Full Version: Sox Bar in Dallas?
Royal Rooters > WE'RE TALKIN' BASEBALL > RED SOX - OFF THE FIELD

Hey everyone. We've got a new poster here, bja855, who's a transplanted Sox fan in Dallas. Does anyone happen to know of a bar in the area that he could go catch a game at?

You know, I lived there three years and am planning to move back within a couple of months, and I didn't find one. There are a few Irish pubs that are cool. I'm heading in this weekend, actually, for the holiday. The Tipperary Inn on Live Oak is my favorite. I know I'll be in at least once during my time there, and I'm going back for the 24th and 25th (I think those are the dates) to see a band called Brother.

I have actually been to that bar. There is a few other Irish pubs in that area. You would think with the large amount of New Englander's that have moved here there would be something oriented towards the Boston fans.

I made the mistake last year of watching the Super Bowl at a Panther's bar. I can't belive I made it out alive.

We've been to several as a good old Irish local is my favorite place to go. There's one at Mockingbird Station called Trinity Hall, but it's more a dining place than a pub. Not as fun. Trinity sometimes has traditional music, but the Tipp does as well and then they also have other bands as well. Also, there are a couple along Lower Greenville: The Blarney Stone and The Dubliner, but I still think The Tipp trumps those. They don't have pub grub.

I know. I'm not from New England, but I've been a Sox fan 20 years. Believe me, I looked and never found a haven there. But, then, if a few of us 'ganged' up on the Tipp, maybe we could fix things for next year. Maybe we should just wear Sox stuff in there as much as possible. What can it harm, right?

hat sounds like a plan. I may even make it down there during the playoffs, this year. I don't get to that area as much as I would like. Living in Frisco makes it tough to go out drinking in Dallas. Maybe if they had some better public transportation.

Yeah, Dallas just doesn't do that much, I know. It's definitely a driving town. And Frisco is a trek. We'll work on the Tipp, though. It'll be a project! smile.gif

I'm here in Plano, so if you find one.........I'm in. There are enough of us in the Metroplex....I see you every year at The Ballpark behind the 3rd base dugout for the Sox games..........we need to find some place.

I always thought this is something The Ticket could facilitate on their website...........find a home for out of town fans to watch the game.

Do they still have the big screens with the sound at your table at the bar on 75 and Meadow? It used to be Damons.........I don't know what it is now.

I always wanted to start one here in Dallas ...........a bar that serves chowder and lobster rolls.........God I miss Lobster Rolls! Giant Baked Stuffed Shrimp........ahh!
