Does anybody know the source for the quote about Senator Kerry on Dirt Dog's site today? One has a link but the other doesn't.
Edmund Dantes
What's the quote? I don't visit his site. I know the Post had coverage about Kerry making the 2 1/2 games last night comment. They ripped into him IIRC. It was early when I read it, before two long meetings so there is no vouching for my memory.

I'm sorry, I meant the quote that he's attributing to "Jonathan Jackson" that calls Kerry a jackass.

QUOTE
"You probably didn't catch this, but the Jackass Junior Senator from Massachusetts in a speech he's giving at a rally in Ohio just told the crowd that he was really happy because the Red Sox just closed to within 2-1/2 games of the Yankees tonight. Some Boston fan, he doesn't even know what's really going on with the Sox, but claims to be a big fan. I guarantee a real Sox fan knows what the Yankees did tonight just as well as they know what the Sox did. That's almost as embarrassing as Ted Kennedy's pronunciation of "Mike" McGwire and Sammy "Sooser's" names a few years ago. How can they be senators from Massachusettes and be so baseball ignorant?"

I was curious as to who this Jonathan Jackson.
Love of Sox
This actor maybe?????
BigTime34
The Actor is Joshua Jackson. This is also the guy who called him "Manny Ortez."

Personally, I'd rather have my president paying attention to the welfare of our country than how the Red Sox are doing.

Yes there is a world outside of baseball.

When you try to use sports for political gain and you screw up, you should be called out, no matter which party or politician.

I wasn't implying that no one should call him out on the mistake. I was just curious as to where the quote came from.
W.A. Cummings
As much as I dislike W, he had a great sports story I heard on Mike & the Mad Dog. After he threw out the first pitch of the series, he went up into SiaS's box to watch the game with him. Steinbrenner was bitching about something (umps maybe) and W turns around and says, "Same old George". Since he knew him from the owner's meetings. laugh.gif

Kerry probably just meant tonight...
Nomaah
Wow, I am sick of the whole Manny Ortez thing. If you listened to the clip (DD even has it on the site) Kerry says Manny Ortez but immediatly corrects himself and says David Ortez and Manny Ramirez. He mispronounced Pappi's name... so what? I think it is admirable that he was able to name the 3 Sox players on the All Star team.

Kerry's comments (via BDD)

Anyone who quotes the National Review, an arch-conservative publication, is no friend of a Democrat, especially a Kerry-Dem.

That being said, I think Bush knows more about baseball...not high on the list of attributes for effective leadership.

How about Eck for President. He knows baseball and will always gives you a straight answer............ baseball.gif.....baseball.gif.....baseball.gif....OUT

Remy says Jerry Soser and adds an "er" ending to words ending in "a". It's a regional dialect thing.

Also, we are a nation of Smartasses.
