Was just checking out the nyyfans.com site, to see reaction of fans posting there. Very amusing - as usual. First, a thread title for you: "Obsessed Sox fans strike again" - title post: Obsessed Sox fans strike again - Although their football team is a game away from the Super Bowl, they still have pathetic tunnel vision. Dan Patrick just reported that he was at a fund raiser in Boston that had some bands and such but, to no surprise, in the middle the Boston faithful started chanting "Yankees Suck". You'd think sub-zero temps would remind them baseball season is over.
Amusing enough to claim that we are pathetic and obsessed, given that they're writing and reading about it on a message board. But some of the posts (and in fairness, not all posters agreed with the premise): "It's sort of sad" and "They are a lower class of fans."
Bearing out the premise of the 2nd post, let's move on to the Clemens threads:
First, in a poll re attitudes toward Clemens, highest-polling response is "Let him rot in Houston with Andy!" Classy.
Also: "I hope his arm falls off." Also classy.
"...as soon as a player leaves the yankees, they are dead to me.. if i had to choose 1, it would be pettitte only because he was always over-rated.." - I like that - who does he/she think he is, Michael Corleone? get real. oh, and nice "loyalty" to Pettitte - OR now that he's left the club (to be near family - the a**hole)
"[Pettitte] was a Yankee from the beginning and unfortunately he never valued what it meant to be a Yankee..." - yes, whatever that means
"Hunsicker & Drayton Lane Said that Clemens is a man of integrity. Give me a break, you can sell that Deep in the Heart of Bull**** but not in New York." - of course, the poster is from New Jersey, but who cares - NJ clearly is hardened and wiser than those rubes down in texas
These folks kill me.
First the pats win yesterday, now I get to read all this crap from "betrayed" Yanks fans - quite a fun start to the week.

I love how they just ignore that "the fundraiser that had some bands" that the so called "lower class of fans" were attending was baseball themed.
Give me a break.
Thats pathetic right there.

Lets see if this will clense him of his "yankee-ness" and make him want to go into the hall with a Sox cap...

To paraphrase Bill Simmons, I'm really enjoying the 'Yankees Fans Being Pissed at ex-Yankee Roger Clemens' Era.

Now they understand what we were saying, and that it wasn't "jealousy" that he left for the MFY. Clemens is only looking to make a fast buck. Houston offered the money, Clemens took it and ran. Ruins his entire farewell tour, and if we see him up here, I'll be leading the RRR-OOOO-GGGGG-EEEE-RRRR chants.

This Just another chapter in the life of Roger Clemens. A career not only filled with strikeouts and wins, but filled with lies and inconsistencies ....Threw the broken bat head at piazza and then claimed that he thought it was the ball. Was asked to change his glove w/ the 300th win patch on it, claiming that the patch was something that himself and MLB were working on together. MLB had no recollection of this collaboration. Now he has claimed to retire, made his farewell tour and signed w/ the stros. Hilarious! Most players who come out of retirement usually retire first.

Clemens is like the girl who says she "just doesn't want a relationship" then gets engaged to your best friend within 7 days .....Texas Con Man for real.
It is obnoxious to do all the grandstanding retirement crap in the WS -- then immediately lure Pettite and "unretire" -- course couldn't happen to nicer guys than the Yanks.
Not sure, however, money was the key deal -- couldn't he get 5m from the yanks or more? I mean look at Brown's salary -- TCM wants to be a hometown hero.
Loyalty? Ummm -- What's that?

I was scouring the site and I couldnt find any articles on how the yankees replaced harmony and chemistry in the clubhouse with members of the Isle of Baseball Misfits (Brown Lofton Clark and Sheff) and hired Krause to combat the sox acquistions of Foulke Schilling and even Pokey. I think for Georgies next trick he hires Michael Jordan as CEO to fued with Krause.
