I'm 99% sure that wasn't him. It was probably caused by our loading of the new software. If not, PSF will override my answer.
That was me. When I installed the new board, I was member number 1. When I imported the member database, and opened the site, it thought I was Nuf.
I think it is pretty safe to say that Nuf ain't coming back.

I'll contribute. Give me till tomorrow to do that, just because my wallet is somewhere around my house hiding from me.
I see that we have a new look. It seems more blue and now there are blue bars/boxes where the Sox used to be. Sometimes a change is good, although I wonder how my post total ended up decreasing. I don't mind it though, considering half of my posts seem like junk posts anyway. For example if I use the word "Pedro" in any of my posts then it just might not as well count towards my post total, because I'm obviously saying the same thing over and over again.
Seriously, great work to you all to make sure we still have the board.

I thought I'd provide a little update for the Supporters.
We've sent a certified letter to Kevin, with a return receipt. We sent the letter to an address where we know he got mail (and checks made out to RR). We know he doesn't live there, though. We have no idea where he lives. We've restricted delivery on the letter, so that he'll have to go to the PO to sign for it. And we've also requested information from the PO if the letter gets forwarded to another address.
So, this is step 1 in trying to track him down.
In the letter, we asked for all financial records and we demanded that he pay the three people we knew he owed money. We also demanded a receipt from the Red Sox Foundation for the donation that was supposedly made last December.
Since that time, we've discovered that he owes money to SouthpawSox as well for the tickets she got to the AAA All Star game. So we'll have to deal with that as well.
We sat on the letter for a little while during the Playoffs and World Series. We all had "other things" on our minds.
We gave Kevin two weeks to reply. Right now, none of the barstaff has heard from him since October 2, but we do have some "evidence" of his being around.
MALC or I will provide updates when we have more information.
In the meantime, we'd appreciate any "sightings". We're "looking" in obvious places, and have some other ideas if we don't find him soon.
If anyone sees a reference to him or to this situation on any other board or blog, PLEASE let MALC, PSF, and me know. I don't read BDD.com, but I know some of you do. If you see any reference to this situation there, PLEASE let us know asap. Also, we'd like to know if he has posted anywhere else. I've done several Google searches for usernames that I know he uses, and the last post I can find for him is one on our board on September 30.
Thanks for your help and your support.

You don't know his residence, but you do know his name and probably other bits of information. Have you had an internet background data search performed on him? I've never done it, but I know you can get all kinds of information on people. This is one that is linked from Yahoo.

That site links him to the address that we've got - which may have been an old address. His ex-wife lives there.

If we come up with dead ends, I'll definitely use one of the paid searches. I also have a couple other ideas...

I like this. I have a sneaking suspicion pissed off Anni is a force to be reckoned with. I'm thinking Anni's gonna call a couple a hard, pipe-hittin' Massholes to go to work on Nuf, with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch, while she is spouting verses from Ezekiel.
I actually paid for an online background search out of my own pocket a while back. It was very helpful when it came to getting into the RR financial records, but for the most part, it didn't turn up much we didn't know.

It's a method that alot of collection agencies, etc use to "find" people. I worked for a collection agency in MA and we used it all the time..it allows you to legally get information on someone's whereabouts from like your neighbors, etc, etc.
I'm not sure how you could go about skiptracing someone without a collection agency's help..but I'm guessing it can be done.

Ahh, finally a topic that I actually know something about (as for baseball... eh, never mind. There's a reason I haven't posted yet

). Skiptracing is the act of finding people -- such as missing defendants, heirs, witnesses, debtors, etc -- or assets. You don't need to use a collection agency although it helps to hire someone with direct access to the 3 major credit bureaus, as they tend to have the most up-to-date information.
It's been a while since I've practiced law in MA, but I believe that MA has a network of constables who perform some of the duties that a deputy sheriff or marshall would do elsewhere (evictions, service of process, etc.), even though they're private citizens. I suspect that many of them can be hired to skiptrace.
Might not be worth it though. They cost money and it seems to me that the MA Attorney General may be the best (and cheapest) resource. After all, a charity got ripped off so the AG has jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute. If you do that, though, you need to be OK with whatever happens. That is, if your target winds up in dire criminal straits you need to make sure that you won't feel bad for him or have any regret. After you call law enforcement, it's out of your hands.

PSF, as you know from our barstaff discussions, in time it will. Just not now. Eventually, when we figure out a course of action, we will put a thread out there in the main forums explaining the situation and his name will be mud. We are also considering sending Lobel and Dirt Dog a sort of short explanatory press release type thing that would explain the situation, although if they really cared that much chances are they would have found out through one of the Supporters what was going on (I'm not so naive as to think there are not some folks among the Supporters who would be willing to tell what was spoken in here).
I know it's taking us a while, but we've been focused more on keeping the ship afloat and things like the charity drive, the outing strategy, new t-shirts and getting a firm list of Supporters who are up for renewal.
In time, all.

It's not a done deal by any means. It was just a thought we had. Because there is a question of charity funds being allegedly stolen, it is our intent to be completely up front about the situation once we decide on our course of action.
