Wouldn't it be an extra special treat if one or all of our revered broadcasters, Ned Martin, Jim Woods, and Ken Coleman, were voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame (the Ford Frick Award) the year that their beloved Boston Red Sox finally won a world's championship. To vote (and I suggest that you vote as often as you want over the next month), here is the link.
What a way to thank the men who provided the soundtrack to our childhoods:

Please, folks, keep voting each and every day during the month of November. Ned (and the others) deserve to go to the Hall. Your votes could make the difference.

I just voted. And will continue to.
Also, Michael Kay is on the list. Let's hope he doesn't split the vote!

If Michael Kay were to be voted in... I'm moving to Canada!
I've been voting. With the Series win, maybe that pushes Martin, Woods, Coleman over the top.

I'd also recommend voting for Steve Stone just to stick it to the Cubs for blaming their season on him.

If Kay gets in, I am filling up the Remmerswaal station wagon, driving to Cooperstown on the day of the induction ceremony and stopping off at the local produce mart.
There, I shall rummage through their dumpster for the most putrid pieces of rubbish I can find, wrap it up in plain white paper, write "This is you, Kay" on it & fire a Billy Wagner-esque fastball at Kay's head during his acceptance speech.

A Coleman got elected but alas the wrong one
COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) Jerry Coleman, the longtime voice of the San Diego Padres, was chosen as this year's winner of the Ford C. Frick Award.

Hopefully Ken Coleman being a finalist showed that we fans did our part. Now it is up to those on the decision panel to do theirs. I wonder if they have heard all his work, I still love to listen to his recording on the "Impossible Dream" album from the 67 season.
It would be great to see both him and Rice enter next year! Martin is no less deserving. Lets just make sure we do our part again next year.
