I ordered mine from walmart.com. Got it in a couple of days. I, too, ordered it from mlb.com and never received it. They said it was back ordered. I had previously ordered another item from them, with the same results. I won't be buying from mlb.com again.

mine came today, FWIW.

Barnes and Noble had it in the store (in Cleveland) if that helps.

I might go back and get another one or two. The original Pats DVD from the first Superbowl win is selling on ebay for upwards of 50 bucks. I'm sure this DVD has that kind of potential once it is not being produced anymore.
Ralpho316
Goddamnit! I gotta go out and get me one tomorrow!

Thanks alot guys....im glad im back from Conneticut

That Pats DVD fetches a high price because it also includes the halftime concert by U-2. Given the huge sales of Sox DVD's, I believe the market will be flooded for quite a while. If you have a chance to pick up an extra or two for like 5 bucks, I'd do it, but I wouldn't pay more than that.

There's a sucker born every minute. I saw one of those at a Best Buy here the other day.

Hey wait a minute! I have the Pats DVD from the first SB!

I just got back from my local WalMart in Salem, NH.

MLB's World Series DVD: $16.86

NESN's Faith Rewarded: $12.44

And of course, in NH there's the no sales tax. They still had plenty in stock if you are in the area. I love WalMart.

This Christmas thing needs to hurry up and get here. I haven't been able to go get either of these, knowing EVERYONE knows I am a huge Sox fan and that someone is bound to have gotten one of these for me.

Where in Mass?
hytem
amazon.com has it for $13.99 plus shipping.

I just got mine today.

This is a great DVD--terrific job by NESN.

It's all there--the nostalgia, the season and the players.
Not easy to keep a dry eye if you've been around the Red Sox
for 50 years.

These guys obviously have great chemistry and character.
Ortiz, Manny, Millar and Damon are at the heart of it.
And Varitek is the acknowledged "Leader."

I don't know how they would consider trading Millar,
after seeing this DVD--he's part of the soul of this club.
He says all the right things in this video.

Varitek? No way he goes anywhere--unless he takes the Red Sox with him.

Manny/Ortiz? How can you break up the best 3-4 L-R batting combo
in baseball?

Petey? Well, Pedro changed his tune fast when the world turned green.

I'm more regretful about Cabrera. That kid fit right in.
And did a heckuva job.

And Roberts--for the steal of the century.
He got his ring and a nice Christmas gift as a starter in his hometown.

I hope Epstein doesn't mess much more with that chemistry.
It's hard to get--and you don't know you have it until you have it.

My girl just got me one for a stocking stuffer at Newbury Comics for $14.99.

I can't wait to watch this thing.
Al Bundy
I bought the MLB 2004 World Series DVD for $10.49 and NESN's Faith Rewarded DVD for $11.99, both at BJ,s in Chicopee MA a few weeks back. I think the NESN DVD is the better of the two.
MBed
Found one in Best Buy in New York City...

I must say having the Law and Order voice is a bit of a distraction....Hearing that guy try to get excited about the Red Sox and dramatically emphasize "Big Papi" seems a bit odd...
bryanp56
Just got it for Christmas...can`t wait to watch it.
balla45
I was supposed to get the DVD for Christmas, but supposedly Best Buy and Circuit City had no copies of the DVD. Maybe it's just because I live in Texas... angry.gif

So, we had to get it off the internet about a week ago. Hopefully the DVD will come soon as I can't wait to watch it.
Ralpho316
I got it for Xmas today and I am watching that right now. Worth the wait!

I just ordered both DVD's on deepdiscountdvd.com. I'd like to thank JohntheBaptist for the weblink. I ordered both for about 24 bucks. They should be here in about 1 to 2 weeks. Thanks again John.

Got it for Christmas, and watched it earlier. I liked it much better then the other WS DVD. That was still a good one, too.
skl816
I got a copy for Christmas as well. warren.gif

And the ending is a lot more satisfying than the 1986 video that I haven't watched again since, um....1986.
The Colonel
i got the faith rewarded dvd today and it was pretty good. the parade part at the end was great. i haven't watched the regular one yet but this one is a keeper.

Gee, sounds like Santa was delivering quite a few Red Sox DVD's yesterday. biggrin.gif To those who live outside of New England and are still looking, I've seen both DVD's in Best Buy, Barnes & Noble and Media Play, although each store seems to have only a few copies.

I received 'Faith Rewarded' as a gift from my wife (who, bless her heart, ran all around Syracuse to find it), so I finally had the opportunity to watch it today. I had previously purchased the World Series DVD and have watched all or parts of around 8 times. First of all, to those who aren't aware, both DVD's were largely produced from the same available game film and interviews, right down to the graphics they use. Both are very enjoyable, and I'm glad I now have a copy of each in my video library.

I have to say, I enjoyed 'Faith Rewarded' more than the World Series video. Understand, both rate 'Two thumbs WAY up!' for Red Sox fans. But 'Faith' simply does a much better job of covering the regular season. Both videos just sort of casually mention the three-month .500 streak, but 'Faith' covers the Nomar-for-OC-and-Minky trade and the ramifications this move had for the club's defense, and the subsequent hot streak in late August and early September. And this video also goes in depth to review the season series with the Yankees, illustrating the highs and lows.

Both videos race past the ALDS to get to the league championship series. The ALCS coverage in the World Series video is more dramatic than 'Faith', but then it commits the egregious error of omitting A-Rod slapping the ball out of Arroyo's glove, which 'Faith' does show. I thought neither adequately stressed the significance of the Red Sox getting the benefit of two crucial umpiring decisions in Game 6, considering the history of bad calls which went in favor of New York and victimized the Sox in the 1999 ALCS. Not surprisingly, the World Series DVD covers its namesake series in much greater detail than 'Faith'. Both conclude with video of the Sox returning home with the trophy and the 'Rolling Rally' parade.

To conclude, both are excellent videos that will bring back the 2004 season, especially the month of October. Be aware - your TV room will get quite dusty at times! If you could only buy one, I'd recommend 'Faith Rewarded', but I'd also advise picking up the World Series DVD as well if you can. And I'm still eagerly awaiting an extended 'boxed set' with more complete coverage of the key games and plays of the season, similar to the '3 Games to Glory' DVD sets the Patriots produced for their Super Bowl seasons. I hope John Henry is listening.

It will be interesting to see how long it take MLB to come out with a multi-disk set. You would expect they would want to do so now while the iron is still hot. Maybe we'll see one by Opening Day.

Ditto what Candlepin said, thanks John, I ordered mine last night.

Jim Devlin, nice job with the review, but you spoiled it, I wanted to wait and see who won. laugh.gif

ANOTHER SPOILER ....

Kevin Millar talks a lot. rolleyes.gif

I thought it was pretty good. I'd of liked more regular season coverage, especially of the first Yankees game at Fenway, but whatever.

The "Cooking with Ortiz" stuff was cool, for an extra, but the SoSH shirts were sooooo forced that it looked dumb.

Overall, a good DVD. Glad I got it.

God I hate Fed Ex. My mom ordered me Faith Rewarded for Christmas a week ago and paid the extra money for next day delivery and it never came. They'd better give her her extra shipping money back and send my DVD soon. I really wanna watch the DVD and I can't do that till those bums deliver my package.

I've got 'em both- the MLB and the NESN, and I actually prefer the MLB version. I don't mind the "Reverse the Curse" stuff- I thought it was all kind of an interesting spin- and I'm glad it's over of course, as there is no such thing as Curses, just poor pitching and a lack of clutch hitting. (Which I do believe in.)

I like the MLB version better because Denis Leary narrates it, and I think he does a helluva job, and because it is just a bit more tightly scored musically.

"Cooking with Papi" is OK and I agree about those starched, pure-white SoSH t-shirts. Forced.

Also the MLB version has the final at-bats of the various series and better overall bonus material.

Does anyone know where I can find burned DVD's or VHS of the actual games?

Finally got Faith Rewarded in the mail today and watched it. All I can say is wow. That was a great dvd and I'm glad to have watched it and to have lived through every moment on the dvd, whether it was going to the game or watching it on tv, I saw it all and this dvd summed(sp?)
it up pretty well. Bravo NESN on a job well done.
GreenBud
So I got 'Faith Rewarded' off the Net a couple weeks ago and burned into to a DVD...but I hadn't watched it because of the quality issue. Friday, I check the mail, and there it is....'Faith Rewarded'.....a bonus gift from my sweet little Mama......the last 20 mins made that disc....Outstanding!!!!!!

I finally watched the NESN DVD last night and I found it lacking in some ways.

They didn't include footage of a couple of turning points, for example Game 5 they do not show "the bounce" of Clarks ball down the line that became a ground rule double. They didn't show Suppan's base runner in WS Game 3.

But I loved the ending biggrin.gif
