I'll be home for a visit in July and the TB series (exciting huh?) of 7/18-20 would be good for me.

I am in!
I will be out of the country the week of the All Star game, but since the first series after that is against the Yankees, I don't imagine that the outing would be that weekend anyway.
I don't care when the game is, I definitely want in.

All I ask is that you try to pick a game that will not be interupted by terrential downpours.
Thanks

EDIT: Also, a game during the actual summer would be nice, i.e. not during April or September, that way college kids that go to school ouot of state will be able to attend.

I would consider a trip up if it were in June or July if I could get four tickets for the family, as the wife and kids have never been to the Fens. But, please not if it is Tampa Bay, I can get tickets down here to see them easily.

I'll actually go this time and not back out on the last minute (assuming that we can actually bring people this time), but put me in the 'Weekend game' camp. I think it'd be cool if he could make an entire day out of the ordeal, instead of people having to screw out right after to catch a train or leave early because of work the next morning. That way we can hang around, get drunk, and watch MALC crash and burn while he tries to hit on FINY.

As a weekend is most likely not gonna happen (It should be our first choice), I'd prefer to do something closer to the weekends. I.E. avoid the Wednesday smack in the middle of the week syndrome. It would make it more likely that I can get up there for the game if it's a Monday game or something like that.

I'd like to go this year, prefer weekends but open to anything.
I prefer group sales but you can use stubhub for large groups of bleacher seats and it isn't horrible. I took my son, nine of his friends and the eight dads to a game for his birthday last year. I got 19 bleacher seats together on two rows for $75 a pop to the Saturday September 25th game against the Yankees. I bought them in June I think and given it was the MFY I tought it was a decent deal evan though face value was $12 or $18.
I think most weekend games in the bleachers are $40-60 a pop for teams other than the Yankees and you can get up to 25 together.

Jan 12 2005, 04:35 PM
A couple things:
1.) There is almost zero chance that we will score a weekend game. Last year, they told us what we had available, and it was almost all April stuff. We took the only offer we had for a non-April series, and it was a Wednesday in June.
2.) TLB, if you want to bring your boyz, just PM me and tell me how many tix you want reserved. If we have firm commitments from people on how many tickets (I know this is tough without the date in hand), then we will know how many tickets to buy. If we have 71 firm commitments, we'll buy 100 tickets and make it work. If we have 11 firm commitments, then how can we go out on the limb and buy 100 tickets or even 50? It's a tough thing to navigate when we don't have the upfront cash to just buy first and ask questions later.
3.) Please try and keep this thread devoid of one-line sexual innuendo. At the end of this, I have to go through the whole mess and try and get a consensus, and it makes my task 1,000 times harder if I have to wade through 60 chatty sex puns.
Thanks.

Looks like we're going to try and get 50 tickets to a game in June and 50 to a game in September. They go on sale Jan. 18th. As soon as we know what we got, I'll put the info and the Paypal Link up here.
We're going to try for a weekend day, but we have to take what we get. We heard a rumor a few weeks ago that they weren't even going to sell groups because they had sold so many non-group tickets up front.

The Patriot's Day game is one of the hottest tickets in town. That might be worth thinking about.
I like the idea of Pittsburgh in June.
Oakland in September would be appealing, too.
MargoAdamsLoveChild
Jan 16 2005, 03:10 PM
In a vacuum, I love the idea of the Patriots Day game. But most of the people interested in a Rooters Outing won't be able to do that one. So I think it's not viable for an outing.
Personally, though, that'd be a great one to go to, despite the gridlock that usually engulfs the city.

Put me down for four in June. It would be so sweet if it was the LAA of A. But the Pirates wouldn't be bad either since my wife is from Pennsylvania. Of course we will see them in Fort Myers, but a rematch during the summer at the Fens would be good too.
Let me know what happens. If you need a couple of other tickets sold for the game I have friends and relatives in Mass that would probably like to go too.

We have secured 50 tickets to the Anaheim game on Sunday June 5, and 50 tickets to the Saturday Sept. 17 game of the Oakland series.
I just wanted to get that out there ... I won't be able to put out formal info and a link to pay until later, but we need the money in the next two or three weeks.
The Pittsburgh series was completely sold out by the time we got through.
So we'll keep this thread open for the Supporters for a few days, then open it up to the rest of the board. If there are folks who are not Supporters and you want to give them a heads up (I'm thinking of the Chat Leper Society here), shoot them a PM.
This is all first-come, first-serve.
I will post a formal message with payment info later on today.
