I'm getting a little more work in before the season begins....
Dear Matt Clement,
Make us love you! You know, a lot of people are calling you Derek Lowe part deux but yet the season hasn't even began yet. Prove them wrong, and show them you can bitch like you have in my MVP Baseball 2005 game where you won the Cy Young in 2005! How about a win too? Because that would be super!
Love,
Red Sox Nation

Jeesuz....Brazelton had Tommy John surgery when he was 15. Yikes, think the little league coach pushed him a little hard?

Old friend Casey Fossum on the mound for the D-Rays. I don't remember his delivery being that funky.
EDIT: Some things never change, Tek takes Fossum deep, 2-1 Sox.

Good outing for Clement, 5 IP 1 run, 5 Ks, I missed the rest of his line.

David and Gary give Clement's outing two thumbs up. KITT was impressed as well.

On this point, Real Sports on HBO presently has a great piece on surgery on young players and the effect of overwork, breaking balls, and stupid go-for-broke coaches. It was a great piece and I suggest anybody should watch it if they have the opportunity.
Clement saw PT's note and was greaaaat today!!

Finnally, I snuk home on lunch (late lunch) I turned on the game and watched Clement "Slinging Sliders", oh and a couple hooks mixed in with a pretty snappy fast ball. Oh yeah and I didn't watch the whole thing but in what I did see he never got behind in the count and probably only threw 4 balls to 6 batters, I think it was while he was sitting down 8 in a row!! Ok, can you FF to sunday please?

Good win all. I was listening to this while in class, like I was some little kid in the middle of the playoffs. It took all my might to not crack up at Trupe's call of Youks' 3-run shot. Good times, good times.
Let's keep this going, dammit!
