We interrupt this thread for a public service announcement:

KC leading the Yankees 6-3 in the seventh. Wright gave up 5 ER in 5 innings. Small pitching in relief.

(Keep up the good work, Royals...)
RedSoxAnni
It's now 7-3 KC in the eighth, and Embree is pitching. Royals out-hitting Yankees 12-4.

I was listening on the car radio, and John Sterling and Susan Whatsherface were crowing about how the Yankees were finally getting good pitching, and which gives them the advantage over the red sox because the red sox can only win by outslugging teams. And then as if on cue, Wright coughed up 5 runs on a double to sweeney, a single by Long and then a wild pitch with the runner on third.
It was perfect.
And as soon as the 3-0 lede became a 5-3 lead Sterling -- this is the 5th inning!! - says 'the yankees have only two hits. We're in trouble folks."

BusbyReds
Affeldt is blowing up. Spanks have the bases loaded with one out.

Don't look now but the Yankees have the tieing run at the plate (Tino).
BusbyReds
Single, 7-4, Jeter up with the bases still loaded. Shawn Camp replaces Affeldt. I have a bad feeling about this.

Affeldt made an error throwing to second. It could have been a game ending DP, or at least the 2nd out. New KC reliever has a > 7 ERA. Oh good.

7-6 on a two-run single. enraged.gif

He gets Matsui. Two outs now. Sheffroid up.

Sheffroid doubles. Tie game. F*ck the Royals.

F*cking Royals. 7 - 7.

Sterling just said that Sheffield's single tied it in "one of the greatest comeback for the Yankees in this or any other year." I think he prefers hyperbole.

Spanks win. I really, really hate the f*cking Royals. I just hope that some of the pathetic assclown teams that have given us fits this season can buck up and win some games against the CFYs, because shit like this really gets to me.

************! I just punched on the wall.. **** they won! they came up with 5 runs in the 9th inning! thanks alot Royals, piece of shit banghead.gif more pressure on the sox, since they won today! this BLOWS!

I think ESPN recaps will show that the Royals blew an inning/game ending double play. Posada hit the ball, and he's slower than molasses flowing uphill in Maine in January. F*ck the Royals.

Edit, and why didn't the Royals use their best reliever, Mike MacDougal in the ninth? Maybe they're still secretly the Yankees AAA farm team?

Today was reason 55,303 why I hate the CFY.

Git-er-done, boys - we can't let that pinstriped bandwagon gain more ground on us...

Plus, Giambi was on first, so Affeldt could have signed a few autographs, then thrown the ball to 2nd base for the DP.

PETEGINE IS FREED, BOOYAH.
JayhawkBill
Jim Wolf, behind the plate tonight, doesn't tend to call too many balls (2.7 BB/9 innings). I don't know if that'll become an issue or not later on...
adamf11
thats good for bronson, with that slider if its right is close alot, if he gets some calls he can be very effective.

Anni, I've used AOL IM, let me try:

"It is good for Bronson Arroyo that Jim Wolf only allows 2.7 bases on balls per nine innings pitched. When Arroyo is pitching his slider well, it frequently is close to the edge of the strike zone. If the umpire gives him the close calls as strikes, we can expect that Arroyo will be very effective."

adamf11 cheered Petagine's being in the lineup. He's a good guy in my book. biggrin.gif
