LooiesWindup does another cameo and posts the following hard-working Labor Day mojo created by
NU50 Monday, September 05, 2005
**MOJO** - Cameo Day 7 (take 2)
It was a rainy Sunday, and Cameo Mojo featuring Bruce Springsteen stepped to the plate for the Boston Red Sox. Mother nature had other plans for cameo mojo, however, and the game was postponed until a later date. Well, today is that later date, and on this beautiful Labor Day Cameo Mojo makes it's return to pick up where it left off... with a nice healthy win streak.
And what better way to announce your return than with one of the biggest cameos of all time: Marlon Brando in
Superman.

This cameo is still one of the most expensive in movie history: $4 million for 10 minutes of on screen time. The lesson here is that Brando doesn't come cheaply. But when you want the best, you can't get tight in the wallet. Sometimes you pay the big money so you can get the big talent. And with that in mind, we look to today's starter Curt Schilling and clean up hitter Manny Ramirez to step up and earn those paychecks.
Red Sox Nation needs you to be with them today. Live as one of them, Manny and Curt, to discover where your strength and your power are needed. Always hold in your heart the pride of your special heritage. They can be a great people, Manny and Curt, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you... my only son.

(for those of you who are big fans of breakfast cereal mojo, fear not for it will be given its chance to win some more for the team)
[edit by LooiesWindup]: As the Caped Crusader emerges from the Phone Booth, Looies calls upon the Red Sox relievers to emerge from the bullpen and triumph over the
Bitch Sox and save one for Truth, Justice, and the Fen-way

Runner on third and no outs. No runs allowed. It appears Schilling may just be back after turning the corner in the last game folks.

Way to strand the runner at 3rd-K, Pickoff of Pods, and a nice grab by Rent!

I have to say, I absolutely love ESPN's K-Zone. Too bad it must be patented, because no other network uses it.

Hopefully these guys bunting instead of going for the big ining will come back to bite them. Was Iguchi's bunt a squeeze? Suicide?

This is the best Schilling has pitched all year, but this damn lineup has got to wake up and get back to business. I think we're the only team in the bigs that can NEVER hit a rookie pitcher. The guy can have a 9.00 ERA and he still shuts this lineup down.

I'm sure it's a fairly short leash. There is bullpen activity (Foulkie), so I bet one more baserunner will bring him in.

Still excited? He looked pretty good early. But all in all he looks like a decent end of the rotation playoff starter. I wonder how much of it is fatigue - his pitches looked to have more bite earlier on.

Schilling, while he wasn't a number 1, looked OK. Not bad, IMO. Not where we need him to be, though. He has 4 more to get it right. Foulkie, OTOH, looked very good and I'd be tempted to have him go out for the 8th.

This kid has a lot of nasty stuff. I wouldn't be too concerned about the lack of offense.
