Game Time: 7:05 pm
Scheduled starters: John Lackey (11-5, 3.45) v. Tim Wakefield (14-10, 4.41)
The game will be on NESN.
Boston weather: 3 pm observation at BOS: Clear, visibility 10 miles, temperature 71F, DP 49F, wind out of the southeast at 13 mph.
Forecast: Cool, clear, and dry. With no cloud cover and a light wind, we could see some radiational cooling tonight, so bring a sweatshirt! It could get into the low 60's by the end of the game.
The wind will remain east to southeast, which is blowing in from right.

I think this is an extremely important game for us. We need momentum going into NY this weekend, and with Santana pitching tomorrow, this could be a quick two games lost if we don't win tonight. Let's hopethe knuckleball knuckles...and let's walk Vlad if we can.

MOJO** - Breakfast Cereals Day 3
With the unspectacular return of Cameo Mojo gone, the breakfast cereals return to try and get the Red Sox winning again.
With that in mind, we turn to our new breakfast cereal, chosen not for it's nutritional value (which is very good), or for its taste (which is even better), but for it's benefits for one's heart. And as some may know (like Coach Jimmy McGinty of the
Washington Sentinels) "heart" is the most important thing you can bring onto the field.

Cheerios are great start to your day, as well as nice snack any time. Those lots of little O's are satisfying no matter when you eat them. And if the Sox want a satisfying win today, it will take lots of little "O"s of there own, stringing together some hits to start plating runs.
For Wakefield to shut down a very dangerous offense, he will need a little more than plain cheerios, however. Something a little sweeter, and maybe with a little sting to them. Thankfully, we don't have to look far.

With a little help from that cartoon bee, Wake's knuckleball will be sweet enough to make the Angels of Los Angeles (of Anaheim) to say "awww, nuts", a la Lenny Leonard.

Now I'm going to go do my part and enjoy a large bowl of cheerios myself.

I think you'd have to walk him - Vlad's numbers against Wakefield are pretty good - 1.955 OPS, 4 for 11 - 4 HRs with 3 BBs

Red Sox recall Delcarmen, ShoppachThe Red Sox recalled righthanded pitcher Manny Delcarmen and catcher Kelly Shoppach from Triple-A Pawtucket today. Both players are expected to be available for tonight’s game against the Angels.

Today's drink to go along w/ cereal is an old favorite of mine. Made from the sweet nectar of apples, I give you apple juice. The juice combines the sweet taste of apples and leaves you refreshed and even healthy. As they do say "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" well, I'd think a glass of apple juice could possibly keep these guys healthy and from smashing into each other, right? So may the entire team benefit in the taste of apple juice. Especially Wakey and the pen.

Who heard the Angel's announcers' sequence on the "first four numbers retired by the Red Sox as 9, 4, 1, 8?"
9-4-18 was the date the Sox clinched the pennant or something in 1918, and the current Sox ownership changed the order sometime in the winter of 2003 to kill the (possible) curse?
I don't believe in curses, but that's pretty funny that 9-4-1-8 hung up there in rightfield for so many winless years.
