My Red Sox IQ stinks. I barely knew any of the answers to your questions.

I have a question you may or may not know:
The first year I started following the Red Sox (1978), Dwight Evans gets beaned by a pitcher on the Seattle Mariners and is knocked unconscious. Name that pitcher who beaned him.

I believe it was Mike Parrott who beaned Evans in a Seattle vs Sox game. The two best books I have read that give you an excellent view of Red Sox history include; Glen Stout's Red Sox Century and Peter Golenbock's Red Sox Nation. They are both excellent!!
Also if books are not your fancy, check out this link to Red Sox history from Baseball Almanac.

Yup, it was Mike Parrott. My brother and I were so pissed when Parott beaned Evans that we RIPPED up all of his Topps baseball cards. Of course, 3 years later, we realized we should start collecting complete sets and not just the Red Sox. So guess what card we were missing in 1978 for the complete set?
I will look into those books.
