Full Version: SABR meeting in Cambridge today
Royal Rooters > WE'RE TALKIN' BASEBALL > RED SOX - OFF THE FIELD
Cambridge
This is short notice, but if you're in the area stop by. You don't need to be a SABR member. I'll be there myself, in the early afternoon.

Boston Chapter meeting

Join us for the Fall Regional Meeting on Saturday, November 5, 11:30
to 5:00 at Friends Meeting House, 5 Longfellow Place, Cambridge.
We will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1975 Boston Red Sox.
The guest speaker will be former Sox backup catcher Bob Montgomery
with other presentations by author Herb Crehan ("Red Sox Heroes of
Yesteryear"), Sam Bernstein on 1975 World Series bench players and
Mark Kanter on Tony Conigliaro. Mickey "The Lip" Tangel will display
1975 memorabilia and there will be baseball-related prizes up for
grabs in a raffle and silent auction.

A suggested donation of $10.00 covers the cost of coffee, lunch and
a copy of our book, "'75: The Red Sox Team that Saved Baseball"

I was there for a few hours, and it was definitely worthwhile. The turnout was very good. Nothing that notable to report, really. Just that Bob Montgomery is a pretty engaging speaker and the book on the '75 team looks like a keeper.
