Adam Hyzdu was signed to a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers and has been invited to Spring Training.

Adam, 33, has 6 years of MLB experience, and has played for the Red Sox system on four different occassions throught his career. The last stint was when he was acquired from San Diego in July of this year.

In a radio interview on public radio, I discovered that Adam has a wife and 2 kids, and has moved over 50 times during his baseball career. If nothing else, they have gotten very good at relocating. His wife says they will keep doing this as long as somebody will hire him. Its what he does, its the career he has chosen.

Its the unsung heros like Adam that keep the system running.
Hope he can find a place to stick.

I understand that Julie home-schools the children in order to maximize the family's time together.

Cambridge interview with Adam Hyzdu

Adam Hyzdu may have been our best shot at a fifth outfielder next season. If a minor-league deal was all it took, I'm sorry we let him go.

In any case, I wish the best for Adam, Julie, and his children. warren.gif
