Does the Can have "priors", or whatever they're called? Up to 25 years sounds very severe for threatening phone calls.

I havent seen the laws involved, but the federal cyberstalking statute, (18 USC 875) which includes threatening, interstate phone calls, allows up to 20 years imprisonment. This has nothing to do with the state of Mississippi.
