There is talk in this article of resigning Miller. I thought that since he was non-tendered by the Sox that they couldn't sign him until May 1 - what's the deal?

It might be just me, but I think the Arroyo stuff deserves a thread, but I can't make one yet because I'm a newbie. If anyone else agrees.... thanks.

The topic is being actively discussed in the Hot Stove thread.

Arroyo deal official!

Found this little tidbit to be interesting:

"They didn't give me any guarantees," Arroyo said, "but [co-GMs] Jed [Hoyer] and Ben [Cherington] both stated to me that there was no deal on the table for me, and that at no time in the near future did they see me going anywhere.

I am very happy Arroyo has shown his balls to be the size of Saturn. Thank you Bronze Ones. Thank you for being Tim Wakefield Jr. . You are happy to a Red Sox. You have been such a solid contributor.

I think RSN should have a thread just for you, so that all can thank you. And so that the nation can threaten Red Sox management, that if after you have taken a hometown-discount, if the Sox trade you, the backlash will be severe. Losing Nomar sucked. Losing Pedro sucked. Losing Damon sucked. But if someone makes a less-than-my-agent-wants deal with the team, then the team trades the player, what sort of message does that send? Arroyo led the team in quality starts last year. Period. The guy is a keeper.
