He's cleaning his system of all the steroids that Mays/Bonds said he "blantantly" uses.
Cudahy
Dodger feed on Audio.

2-0 LA bottom of the first. That was fast.

What's happened to Schilling? He hasn't pitched since Friday.

He and Clement faced each other in an intrasquad game on Tuesday. Schilling doesn't like facing AL East opponents in spring training (they played the Orioles that day), and Francona didn't want him and Clement riding a bus for two hours for the next day's game.

3-0, Ramon Martinez HR off of Bronson

3-0 LA, Arroyo leaves one hanging.

Edit: Curll - owe me a coke wink.gif
Cudahy
Another homerun off of Arroyo. Very rusty second start. Dodger announcers say he's very hittable right now.

Curll
Cody Ross with a HR. His 3rd of the Spring. Who?

5-0, Blue Sox.
RedSoxAnni
5-0 Dodgers after 2. Bronson's got to work on his breaking pitches.
Zenit2k9
5-0, that second HR of the inning was a twofer.

Peachy.
Bosoxwest
Nice one Curll! And fast.

There's a big trade market for "youngish cost-controlled pitchers who give up dingers to Cody Ross" right? Right? Was there a concert last night?
Curll
Not having a life allows me the luxury of being a post-slinger of the Wild Wild Web. A skill honed after many, many years of lonely Friday nights.

*tear* And I'm even just using Yahoo's box score. So, credit them with the speed.

In other news: Italy is tied with the DR. Wow!

Vermiliya pitching the 3rd for the sox

So when is opening day, April 3 - 4?

Heard the A's are 1 - 7 in ST, for anyone starting to get concerned about the Red Sox.
Cudahy
Sharp 1-2-3 inning for Vermilyea. This is the first inning we haven't given up a run in since Tuesday.
Curll

Arizona and Florida are dominating thier ST leagues.
RedSoxAnni
Six up and six down for Jamie Vermilyea.
Cudahy
2 perfect innings with 2 strikeouts for Vermilyea. Harris and Nixon have the only 2 sox hits.
Bosoxwest
HanRam with a bomb off uber-prospect Anthony Reyes. Let us pray he wasnt just bored at AA.
Zenit2k9
Phil Seibel pitching.

I get it! We're going to suck huge throughout ST so nobody sees us coming in April! We like the underdog thing!

You no likee Texas? I looked up Arlington on Yahoo maps, and it's between Fort Worth and Dallas. Always thought it was down near San Antonio somewhere. So, is it that hot in Arlington, to warrant almost all games to be at night? Just curious.
Cudahy
We finally score a run on a wild pitch.

WBC update:

3-4 DR leading ITA. Top 5.

Ortiz is 0-0, 2BB.
Cudahy
RBI hit by Snow. 6-2.
Cudahy
Bausher didn't give up a hit in the 6th. All the regulars are out.
I guess the regulars are going to play 6 innings of every other game till the first cuts(after the split squad game next Thursday?).
Cudahy
2 run homerun by Lowrie in the 9th. 6-4.

Final score 6-4. Good pitching by Vermilyea, Bausher, Alvarez and Hansen.
Only 5 hits for Sox. Bats haven't arrived at spring training yet.

That's 4 scoreless IP for Hansen this spring, though I think his appearances have all been late in games, so he's not facing ML regulars.

Hansen looked great today... had a sec to chat with him before the game... seems well grounded considering the hype. There was one well hit ball off him..but he seemed to be putting the ball where he wanted it.

Great weather for a game today... nomar was very friendly with the fans signing autographs down the 3rd base line for a good 20 mins after getting pulled.

Machado looked VERY shaky at short... even when he made plays the throws seemed reserved. Not sure if he was just shaky from booting a ball early on... but he certainly did not look ready to take the step to the next level today.

You gotta love spring training:

QUOTE
If the early morning and long ride didn't serve as enough of an inconvenience, things got worse when the team bus broke down about 45 minutes after departing Fort Myers.

Fortunately, the Red Sox had a van trailing the bus, so several players, including Arroyo, were able to arrive at Dodgertown not far behind the scheduled time.

The rest of the team didn't arrive until less than an hour and a half before the first pitch, as they had to wait 45 minutes for a backup bus.

"The bus broke down, we had eight dudes like sardines in a van with bags stacked all the way back to roof," said Arroyo. "I mean, waking up at 6:15 and laying underneath the seat on a van like you're in a Rambo movie doesn't help."
