That's gonna be fun smile.gif

Last Florida ST game for the Sox.
RedSoxAnni
Wake gets a fly out, ground out, and pop up in the first. No score with the Sox coming up.

Arroyo got a nice ovation when he came out of the dugout.
RedSoxinIsrael
1-2-3 for Wake. Full counts on 1st 2 hitters. fly out, ground out, pop out

Crisp CF
Loretta 2B
Nixon DH
Manny LF
Lowell 3B
Youkilis 1B
Pena RF
Bard C
Gonzalez SS (They just moved the lineup, don't remember who was first, Bard or Gonzo)

vs. Arroyo.

RedSoxAnni
Crisp leads off with a single...
RedSoxinIsrael
Crisp with a great swing on 2 strike pitch, hits it to right center, base hit.

Single...Coco thought about a double. Loretta up.

Loretta was down 0-2, now 2-2, pick off by Arroyo....thrown away! way back to RF! Crisp ot 3rd.

Loretta pops out to 1B.
samba guy

and Manny on a lowwww pitch.

Wake: 2nd inning

Ground out
HR, Rich Aurila! hanging pitch, to left (wind blowing there)
great play by Youks at 1B!
ground out

1-0 Reds after 1 and a half innings.
JohntheBaptist
Interesting that Tito crafts an almost totally RH lineup to face Bronson.
czar
Lowell hits one up the middle of Arroyo's back (he's fine)... 1B.

Youkilis lines an opposite field single.

1st and 2nd for Arroyo vs. WMP...

Arroyo gets WMP swinging at a breaking ball low and away...
RedSoxinIsrael
Boston 2nd:

Lowell hits one off Arroyo, infield single.
Youkilis with a great swing, single to right.
Pena vs. Arroyo...nice smile.gif
K for Pena.

Get used to this statement minus the birthday part.

I think it's sweet.
vafenway
anyone know what happend in innings 3-4?
.406
Arroyo has set down 8 in a row. K'd the side in the 4th.
vafenway
I should hope so, this is his World Series.
czar
I'm going to assume the ESPN guns have been off for some reason the last couple of days.

They had Schill in the high 80's, Foulke in the low 80's and now Paps in the 86-88 range.

They ALL can't be throwing that slow.

EDIT: Papelbon K's one, allows a seeing high single, K's another...

Haha, I missed how Paps got the last out-- I saw him walking off the mound...

Here's to hoping it was another K.
unholycow
Nice inning for Paplebon. Strikes out the side (incl. ground ball single).

Answers my question...

Arroyo has set down 16 in a row.

Are we trying to make him look this good or something?

EDIT: Lowell draws a walk! Baserunner!

Youk with a chopper than the 3B made a nice play and throw on.

1-0 Reds heading to the top of the 8th...
JohntheBaptist
Him dominating us felt like a mortal lock coming into the game. No surprises there, especially when you stack the lineup against Arroyo with RIGHTIES.
unholycow
MDC walks two, Hatteberg doubles, then with 2 on, MDC gets two outs (incl. old friend Andy Abad), but then Kearns singles them home before MDC gets out of it. Foulke next?

I'm listening to Reds radio. They call him "Brandon, I mean Bronson, Arroyo"

Yeah, much more so than the ACTUAL World Series he pitched in, way back in, uh....2004?

Think he's doing him a solid?
Hail Cesar
Shake that butt again, girl in the first row with the short-shorts.

Think he's doing him a solid?

Of course, and why shouldn't he? Replace Trot with Ortiz and that's his regular lineup against LEFTIES. Of course, his regular lineup against lefties looks like it would be terrible against any RHP, especially with Bard instead of Tek, but for Bronson it's a gift.
RedSoxAnni
FINAL: Reds 4, SOX 0

WP - Bronson Arroyo

LP - Tim Wakefield

Reds - 4R, 8H, 1E

Love of Sox
That's a wrap on Spring Training. Well done Anni!
Malzone64
Where and whom do the Sox play next? Today was the last FLA game, right? Maybe they start practicing winning now?
RedSoxAnni
We've got two exhibition games at Philadelphia on Saturday and Sunday. Then, Texas on Monday! WOO-HOOOOO!

I'll open threads for the exhibition games in the Spring Training Forum so we can comment on them. I know they're not really ST, but they're not real games, either.
