I don't know if anyone's interested, but more tickets were just released for the Sox trips down to NYC in May and June. I got 4 seats together for the June 7th game and a buddy of mine got 4 together for the May 9th game. They're both weekday series, but just wanted to offer the heads up to anyone who would like to take advantage of it.

Thanks!
I upgraded our left field bleacher tickets to better seats so now I have extra tickets to two of the games in June. They are for monday and tues 5 and 6 june, two seats together to each game in bleacher 51.
If anyone is interested I am willing to sell these for about $20 for two. I bought them for $36 including fees. The problem is that I have to pick them up at the venues will call so I donīt have the tickets until game day. Anyway...if someone is interested please send med a pm.

Thanks FINY! You rock. I'm always oblivious to such things.
Got tix for June 5 and 8. Why so close together? Well, that was sort of an accident. But anyways. Baseball!

Thanks a lot. I wish I had been able to get something for the September series, but I did get a few for June. I don't know if I can use them but they won't go to waste, and most importantly I avoided the dreaded Upper Deck/Tier Reserved stuff and got Loge which is far more civilzed.

Hey folks,
Just reading through the boards and thought i'd add a wee question in here. I am from Scotland, a friend and I have tickets for the a game in the Sept series in section 639.
Whats the deal with Sox fans @ NYY? Would it be unwise to wear any Sox jerseys?
Personally, i go to a lot of 'football' in Scotland and away fans like to sing a lot of abuse at home fans at the games. However, they are segregated so there is rarely any trouble!
Here is an example of a recent away game I was at, as you can see there is a bit of banter after the goal!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMcy2KhN7r0It's not like soccer, the fans are intermixed. As long as you cheer for your team without trashing the Yanks you should be fine. Just don't act like a jerk and you'll be fine. Contrary to some peoples opinion there are Yankee fans who will willingly chat with a Sox fan, I even had to stand up for one in 04 who was getting hassled. I figured it was retribution because some Sox fans were damn cool to me at Fenway. There's plenty of us who are just normal baseball fans. I would advise you to stay away from the drunks in the bleachers, they can be jerks at times. Lastly, don't drink to much, security is more apt to toss a Sox fan than a Yankee fan who is drunk - I know it isn't fair but it's the same anywhere.

Is that Ayr Utd ?
Anyway completely different over here than it is to going to a game in Europe, you can wear what you like, there is no segregation so you wil be sitting in the middle of Yankee fans who for the most part won't care who you are, once your not acting like a tool.
Their is no singing at baseball games or really at any other games in America you just get the Lets Go Red Sox chant which is the same chant all other fans of teams in America use and thats it . Pathetic really, i miss singing at matches.

It sure is Ayr United - the Honest Men! Home of Robert Burns and all that claptrap.
How'd you get that?
Seems like we will be OK at NYY then, hopefully its not a dead rubber!

We will be in NY for all four games in early june. Can anyone tell me where in NY there are any "Red Sox" bars (if there are any). You know, bars either around the stadium (not likely) or somewhere else where it is safe to wear Sox jerseys and stuff and where you can talk to other sox fans. Thanks

The latest episode of 'Stories From Red Sox Nation' (aired on NESN over the past weekend) had a great piece on the Riv in NYC, a Red Sox themed bar behind enemy lines where Sox fans from around the city flock to, to catch the games.
I know folks on this board have frequanted there & can provide additional info.

I haven't been to the Riveria yet this year and I was told by some folks here that the Red Sox scene relocated to a place called Professor Thom's.
Prof ThomIts on 2nd Ave between 13th and 14th on the west side of the block. I was there last night actually and its good pub grub with a decent selection of beer.
I heard tell of a dominican place next to the toilet in the bronx where the patrons of the bar are big Manny, Papi, and Pedro fans. I've never been but if its anything like the rest of the bars on that block, it will be packed and it will smell and have a shitty beer selection.

I'll second LM on heading to Professor Thom's, good pub food and beer selection, run by a true Sox fan to boot. Visited a couple weeks back and was hoping to get over there this week or next for another game.

I agree with Jamie. I wore Red Sox stuff to game 1 of the ALCS in the bleachers and most people didn't say anything. Ones who did thought it was cool we cheered for our team, but of course jeered us when they were winning (I went with my dad). When the Sox made it close, we stood up on the bleachers and cheered and we didn't get anything thrown on us or anything like that. If someone said all Yankees fans at the toilet were assholes

I can't unload my tix for Monday and Tuesday for anything...I guess Yanks fans just aren't as eager to see these games as Sox fans would be.
But anyway, while i think Yankee Stadium is a fairly miserable place, (concessions are HORRIBLE, corridors are dirty, etc), I would note that in my experience, Security has been very good. It depends on who is in your section, but I've never seen them treat a Sox fan unfairly. Most of the problems I've seen were Yankee fan on Yankee fan. I even had an usher come by and ask me if anybody was harassing us once.
