Boston Red Sox - Agreed with designated hitter David Ortiz on a four-year contract extension with a club option for 2011.
Major League Baseball - Suspended Washington Nationals manager Frank Robinson for one game and pitcher Felix Rodriguez for three games for their actions during a game on April 6; fined Robinson, Rodriguez and outfielder Jose Guillen an undisclosed amount.
Tampa Bay Devil Rays - Placed pitcher Mark Hendrickson on the 15-day disabled list; recalled pitcher Jason Hammel from Durham (Int.).
Texas Rangers - Announced pitcher Erasmo Ramirez cleared waivers and was sent outright to Oklahoma (PCL).
