Decided to buy one of the team-signed photos from the last out/celebration of the World Series but, not too surprisingly, they're a little tough to find online. So, two questions: (i) Anybody back in Boston know of any good memorabilia shops that I should try? and (ii) Have you heard of Tristar? They're one company that appears to have them, but I haven't heard of them (The only company I have heard of is Steiner)
thanks

I've seen them on mlb.com before. They sell for like 5K. I'm curious about Tristar myself. I was looking at their web page ( if they're the co. I remember ), and I saw an 8x10 of Clemens in Sox gear, autographed. I would like to see what their verifications of authenticity are. I have a friend who works in sports autographs for a living. He told me something like 90% offered are fake. Be careful.

There's Tristar stuff on mlb.com, so maybe that's an indication they're reputable.

I've delt in the autograph business before--it's a tough thing to get into.
Tristar is very reputable. Like you said, MLB.com uses them.
PSA/DNA, a common, cheaper alternative that is commonly found on places like eBay, is also pretty good.
Steiner is, obviously, the king.
Like I said, I used to work in that business, I'll check around with some of the guys I know and see if I can track one down for you.

Most retailers sell the team signed photos for $2000+. Ebay may be the best place to look. You can pick up the team signed phots for around $1000 -$1500. When looking at these items the photos should have holograms from both MLB and either Steiner or Tristar. The holograms from MLB should have a number on them which you can enter into the MLB website and verify the authenticity of the item, same goes for Tristar.
