Harry Bobbin Manass
QUOTE
Hansen will wear #56 and be in uniform for tonight's game in New York. The 22-year-old righthander has combined for a 1-2 record and 2.08 earned run average (8 ER/34.2 IP) in 12 games/four starts with Double-A Portland of the Eastern League and Pawtucket in 2006.

I'm not sure if this is a long-term move or not, but with the beating the bullpen took last night and the possibility of Pauley not lasting long tonight, they needed somebody who could give them a few innings. Hansen has gone 4 innings and about 70 pitches in each of his last few outings.

Well, let's all get ready.

I myself am hoping that Papelbon can strike twice in the same place.

I mean, lightning. Of course.

Very good news.

I am glad that it's the 6th inning and we haven't had to use Hansen yet.

That's how I've always pictured you, you big lug.

I imagine it's just a stopgap caused by Beckett's suckitude, and anticipation that Pauley would not go deep in his start.

With Pauley saving the pen, I'd send Hansen back down and bring Van Buren back up.

Can't do that for at least 10 days. I suspect Hansen is here until at least Saturday, and then he may be the one who goes down to make room for Lester. The other wild cards here are whether Foulke has to go on the DL and when Timlin is ready to come off it.

I forgot that about the 10 days, and you make a good point about Foulke. Apparently his back is bothering him. The Yes announcers said he was not available tonight, and that seems to have been the case for several games now. Probably needs to be DLed.

Well he probably couldn't have done worse than Seanez.

Check, I could not have done worse than Seanez.

If Hansen was brought up specifically to relieve Pauley, why oh why didn't Hansen actually relieve Pauley. In the sixth. To start the 7th. After the first runner got on in the 7th. After Damon's hit in the 7th. After Cabrera's walk in the 7th. Why the hell did we call the kid to the Bronx if all he was going to do was sit on his butt?

Obviously, I still haven't cooled off from Tuesday's game...Great to see you back in the Show, Craig. Now you and MDC can play backgammon (or whatever) in the 'pen while Tito continues to ignore both of you.
nickdog
I hope they keep him up here and see what he can do. He couldn't be worse than a few of those guys in the bullpen.

By the way, the Paw Sox game is on NESN right now.

Craig Hansen talks about his college years

Wow. A year ago, he's playing beer pong. Now he's coming being asked to work out of a bases loaded jam vs. the White Sox 4 & 5 hitters.
