NEW YORK -- The Yankees are hoping that Robinson Cano and his injured left hamstring can avoid a trip to the disabled list, but the club won't make that decision for another day or two.
Cano left Sunday night's game in the sixth inning after pulling up lame at second base following a double. He underwent treatment on Sunday night and Monday afternoon and said that he would undergo an MRI exam on Tuesday.

Over on NYYfans they are saying that WFAN has already reported that Cano is on the DL and they called up Green (no idea who that is)

Does this mean that Cano can't start the All Star Game? If so this could open the door for Mark Loretta.

If Cano misses the All Star game Ozzie will (deservedly) tab Tadahito Iguchi to start in his place. Loretta has not been worthy of selection.

But Jose Lopez has, even more than Iguchi. But fair or unfair, I can't blame Ozzie if he picks one of his own. Torre did it for years.
