Game time: 6:05 pm
Scheduled starters: Tim Wakefield (5-8, 3.86) v. Brian Moehler (5-6, 6.55)
Miami weather: 9 am observation at MIA: Wind out of the northeast at 7 mph, visibility 10 mph, few clouds at 2,500 feet, scattered clouds at 7,000 and 30,000 feet, temperature 83F, DP 74F.
Forecast: A case of the muggies! The dew point's in the mid-70's at 9 am! It's gonna be a hot, sultry, South Florida day.
The area is still dominated by a weak high to the north, and that's keeping the wind coming from the east. The tropical wave I mentioned yesterday is less defined today, and may not influence Miami weather until after the Sox have moved on.
It's going to be hot and humid today, and we can expect pop-up showers and thundershowers in the area during the late afternoon. The wind will remain east, and may pick up a bit this afternoon to around 15 mph. The wind will be blowing in.

ok...what the F***?
The game is scheduled to be on this evening on NESN, but it still isn't appearing on my "mlb extra innings" package. I thought that they only blocked out the day fox games on saturday. Anybody have any info?

I have info but you aren't going to like it...
Here's the deal, When FOX has games they have an east coast game at 1pm EST on the west coast they show games at 1pm PST/4pm EST. In spite of the fact that NOBODY on the east coast has a FOX 4pm game all games on EI are blacked out if they start before 7pm EST.... Therefore you and I are sh*t out of luck and get no Sox game today in spite of the fact that there is no other game we can watch and we spent $160 or so to watch the Sox.
EDIT: I also partially blame the Marlins for this mess... play if the afternoon or play in the evening, don't play at 6pm. The only difference between a 6pm start and a 7pm start is that they screw over those of us with EI.

The only reason I can think of for Florida starting the game at 6 oclock is to prevent fans from outside of Florida or Boston from seeing the game.
I guess they figure the Marlins don't have any fans outside of Florida so they get a chance to screw Sox fans.

The Mets are leading the Yankees 8-3 in the bottom of the eighth. A-Rod just homered... We've got some incentive to win, boys! We can pick up a whole game!
The weather is holding out in South Florida. At 4 pm, the wind was out of the east at 12 mph, and it was 90F, with the DP at 72F. There are thundershowers off shore, but they look like they'll affect the coast south of Miami.

*MOJO* - BOS @ FLA - Tag Team Day 1Looies has much to be proud of, as 12 wins is the most mojo has managed to string together since "BelindaInThe8th" tied that mark in 1995 when he was writing a mojo newsletter that he would print and handout in Fenway Park before each game. This proved especially difficult for road games.
However, the time has come for Looies to make the tag out and for me to take back over the mojo duties. And with such a symbolic gesture leads us directly to today's mojo> After all what can be say about today's mojo other than "ohhhhhh, what a rush!"

Hawk and Animal made up the Road Warriors, one of the most dominating tag teams in the history of professional wrestling. They've won titles in every major wrestling alliance, and as the Legion of Doom have held the WWF belts as recently as (believe it or not) 2005. Working as a team, they were one of the best at a staple of the tag team genre: when one guy starts getting overwhelmed, make the desperate tag out and their partner barrels in and cleans house. If the offense starts laboring, it will be up to Tim Wakefield (the only member of the 95 squad still around) to keep the Marlins off the board. And if it is Timmy that gets knocked around, it will be up to Manny and the rest of the lineup to slug them right back. And if the match ends up being close, then it will be up to the Doomsday Device to finish them off:

Time to paint your face and dust off those spiked football pads in your closet, because LoD is back and ready to lay waste to all those oppose them.

he couldn't stay close to the zone. Fell behind every hitter. Fastball topped at 87 mph. Basically was really sucking big time. I'm not too sure what the injury was, but his control was off big time...
Gonzo was TERRIBLY unlucky there... that was a nice hit, right in Hanley's glove...
But that lead is still nice to have.

If anybody with MLB.TV wants to take the time to download and install MLB.TV Mosaic, you can watch the game, albeit in panel mode, which means it's 1.5 inches wide, but nonetheless, it's there. I downloaded it a few weeks ago and found the process to be a pain in the butt with a lot of extra plugins I had to install, but I can at least see something now. Just FYI.
