Just got back from the 51s game vs. Tucson Sidewinders. Interesting game. Tucson got 12 runs on 10 hits, LV 2 runs (both in the bottom of the 9th) on 10 hits.
One 51s reliever had an interesting line- 1 IP, 5R, 4 ER, 0 hits, 3BB, 2 HBP (Wilson Valdez commited his 2nd error of the game in the inning).
Valdez' errors both led to runs, and were both the same kind--he was playing CF and overran balls that bounced in over the infield and died in the OF. In both cases, he had his hand on the ball and muffed it.
Interesting play in the first. Valdez led off for LV. He bunted, just over the right side of the mound. Ball went past the pitcher. 1b, moving to his right, missed it. 2b, moving to his left also missed it. It died in short RF. Double. Bunt double.
Never seen anything like it.
At least the fireworks were great.
