I was wondering if someone could help an out of towner coming to the game with information on how much it is to park around Fenway these days? Does anyone have any secret places they go to?

I would take public transportation, but we're going to be cutting it close just to get there.

Thanks.

The last time I was up there, last year, it was $30 anywhere near the park. And it filled up by gametime. $20 farther out, but that's several blocks. Illegal parking on a side street is usually an option.

I noticed earlier this year that the costs were way up...that gas station behind Fenway was $50!

Local lots seemed to be $40ish.

Better option might be to park at the Prudential Center for $24 or so and walk.

I usually get there early and park for free on Cummington St (BU Campus) for night games and Sunday games. When school is out, usually there's no problem parking. Just make sure you feed the meter to get you to 6 'clock when nobody will ticket. Sundays are free. There's a parking garage there and I always laugh when I see people waiting in line to pay 30 bucks to get in, when there is PLENTY of street parking available. Usually the street is full by an hour before game time, FWIW.

Shhh...Ancient Red Sox secrets. ph34r.gif Channel 7 once did one of those "best kept secrets" parking spot series, and I couldn't park near my North End apartment anymore.

Depending on where you are coming in, just park out in Newton Centre and take the train in. Easy in, Easy out.

Yeah I liked to just take the T in from Ailwife, its just so much easier and cheaper although its sometimes a pain after games because its so crowded going back.

If anyone coming in from the North has made a ritual of parking at Orange Line stops like Sullivan Square or Wellington, I would reconsider. They're doing night time work on Orange Line tracks north of North Station and the only way to get back is to catch a bus from Haymarket. Apparently this will be ongoing through December.

This public service anouncement has been brought to you by Ellis Greenwell, the letter T, and the number 9.

If you must park in the city and you are coming in on the weekend, you could do no worse than taking advantage of the $10 flat rate parking in the garage at the common and hopping on the T from either Park Street or Arlington.

Total cost for one person: $12.50 with $2.50 addition per person (for T fares)...

I've done that. The great thing about the common is its probably the easiest goddamn thing to find in Boston if you are from out of town.
Lately whenever I go to games I park at Riverside and take the Green Line in. It costs like $5-6 total and you don't have to deal will all that Boston traffic.

Great spot, I would always try to get there about 2-3 hours befor game time to either grap one of the few legal, unmetered spots or walk the street searching for an out of order meter.

BTW are they still eating up half the spots with the construction?

I drove right in back roads (Route 27 / VFW Parkway / Arboretum Parkway / Jamaica Parkway / Brookline Ave.) at 12:30 p.m. and parked for $25 at the Fenway Theatre complex garage about a block from Boston Billiards and two blocks from the Fens. The garage was half-empty, and we were able to use the bathroom at the theater on the way to the game. Boo-yah. I consider that fair.

I always go down Bay State Rd. It's behind-ish Beacon St and Comm Ave, it's just north of Commonwealth and runs parallel to it. You can always find metered spots on the weekends (I did today,) and for normal night games from mid-May to Sept. 1, just get there by 5:20 and you shouldn't have a problem finding a spot.

If Bay State is packed, follow it until it intersects with Granby St...go through the light and to the left onto Commonwealth. Take your first right and enter the Warren Towers garage...always just $20 and it's a 4-5 minute walk to the park, if that.

You can park for $20 in a garage right across from Boston Billiards on Brookline Ave. The garage probable only holds 40-50 cars but I have never had a problem getting a spot there an hour before game time. Jsut have to be out within 1 hour after the game. Gas Stations on Boylston are charging an avg of $30 per game with no blocking. As always, the T is the cheapest (and sometimes the quickest).
Zenit2k9
Park in Renaiassance Garage on Columbus Ave. in Roxbury. It's nextdoor to the Ruggles T stop. There is a shuttle run from the stop to the park.
Seabass
At the outing I parked at the Avis rental car place on Westland for $15. About a 10 minute walk to the park, and well worth the $15 I saved, plus it's a straight shot back to 93.

One time I was desperately searching for parking for an afternoon game and was having no luck. Finally, I drove it into Firestone which had a sign out front saying oil change and lube $19.99. I told them I'd pick the car up after the game. With tax, about $21 and I got my oil changed.
SoxFan44
Either park at Northeastern and take the shuttle, or park at the Prudential for $9 (but you have to give them your ticket stub).

I usually park on Beacon Street for Sunday or evening games. I park aiming "outbound", and I manage to avoid most of the traffic after the game, too.

You have to feed the meters on Beacon Street on weekdays until 6 pm, but for a couple quarters you can park free the rest of the night. Depending on how far away you've got to park, it's anywhere from a half-mile to maybe 3/4 mile to Fenway. I've never had to park further away.

If you get in before then and have a drink at Dick's Last Resort and have them validate the stub, you can save a few bucks too. But you have to be in the garage right next door to Dick's.

That's absolutely brilliant! Good job!
