Game time: 8:05 pm

Scheduled starters: John Lackey (9-6, 2.89) v. Curt Schilling (13-3, 3.60)

The game will be on ESPN.

Boston Weather: 2 pm observation at BOS: Wind out of the east southeast at 12 mph, visibility greater than 10 miles, few clouds at 6,000 feet, temperature 74F, DP 62F

Forecast: We've got a brief respite from the heat today and tomorrow before the REAL hot weather gets here. Eastern NE weather is being influenced by a weak backdoor cold front, and we've got an onshore breeze in the coastal area, which is keeping temperatures cooler there than inland. At 2 pm, it was 74F at Logan Airport; I suspect that it is a few degrees warmer at Fenway Park. It's in the mid-80's just west of route 128/95; BED is reporting a NE wind and 84F, FIT and ORH have the wind out of the west and temperatures in the upper 80's.

It will probably be in the upper to mid-70's by game time. There will be a light wind out of the east (blowing in) around game time, but when the sun goes down the winds will shift around from the west (blowing out), but at less than 10 mph.

Another blown save by Huston Street, vs. Toronto.

Edit, A's announcer said 'it's so difficult to get a four out save.' Well, if your name is Street, maybe. Now 3 runs given up in the ninth by Street.

Seven BSs for Street this year. There is Mariano, and there is Jonathan, and the rest are all crapshoots.

Glad to see Lowell in hte lineup. GD Olney anyway.

What I posted before, Milton Bradley, Mr. Monopoly himself, saved the day with a 3 run walkoff against BJ Ryan. Life's little favors. Go Sox!

*MOJO* - BOS @ ANA - Party Animal Day 1

"We're going streaking! Everyone meet at the park, it's going to be awesome! Curt, you can bring your green hat! Come on, lets go!"

It's a party at Fenway, and everyone is invited.

Loretta not in the lineup, Tito saying it's just a coincidence. OK.
gerky
No Joe Morgan tonight! banana.gif
ivebeentruped
The fact that that play was even close is impressive.

Curt was too much in love with his fastball in that inning. Splitter got him out of it.

1 - 0.
SuperManny
I cant believe Lackey just threw home
Curll
Never doubt the wheels of Kevin Youkilis

Brain fart. I half expected there to be a play there though, pessimist that I am sometimes.
SuperManny
And Trot puts the inning to an end
MDKing
Schill is getting knocked around.
Martin and Woods
What a pleasure watching an ESPN game without Joe Morgan.
ivebeentruped
Trot...how many games have you played out there in RF? How can you not expect that carom?
gerky
Pokey Reese flashbacks there.
MDKing
I though that might be inside the park.
Lou Duffys Cliff
Thanks Trot barf.gif
ivebeentruped
That was a good way to stop the momentum.

Don't trade Lowell.

MDKing
You ever plan on driving in a run, Coco?
OilCan Jolmy

Boy, that whole "Coco is better than Johnny Damon" thing ain't looking too hot right about now.
SuperManny
BTW thats a SS who can hit
RedSoxAnni
Schilling is getting smacked around here...
buffs4444
WTF.......CURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Preacher
This is just getting ridiculous.
ivebeentruped
We still love you Curt, but I'd say it's time to hit the showers.
RedSoxAnni
Back to back now...
Lou Duffys Cliff
Who let the batting practice pitcher take the mound? blink.gif
MDKing
So a .5 game lead, huh?
MFLetou
I still don't understand why we couldn't resign O-Cab.

But anyway, this is depressing. We have a 2 man rotation, and the top of it is getting smacked around like he's throwing BP. Curt's got zero location tonight.
MTSUDaff
I don't know if I've seen Curt get dominated like this in a Red Sox uniform before. At least not when he was healthy. He is missing everything tonight.

3 man rotation, schill, beckett, and lester
MDKing
This is all Affleck's fault.
KillEverything
Man, Curt's location is off tonite.

This will be his first loss in the Fens this season, if we don't come back. I'm just not thinking Lackey dominates potent Red Sox offense will be a headline. C'mon guys.

Crisp Damon. Yeah, so far that one really hasn't worked out. Hopefully he can find his swing again.
SuperManny
3rd HR of the inning

WTF Curt?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Ya know what?

This is all Affleck's fault.

Someone off him.....and bring his wife to me.
ivebeentruped
Even the outs are hammered.
MFLetou
Can't we put Van Buren out there? He's going to get set down anyway with the corresponding move.

Even his outs are getting pounded. Lets just retool.
Lou Duffys Cliff
We're f*cked

..and I was looking forward to settling in and watching this game tonight? 10_1_131.gif

Maybe I will watch Entourage at 10 and turn it back to see the SOx staging a comeback.
