Absolutely crushed.
Edit: I remember, in Seattle, during batting practice, I tried to catch a Wily Mo HR with my bare hand. It hurt.

I have watched a lot of red sox games over the years, beginning with Jim Rice in his prime, and I don't think I have ever seen anyone, home or visitor, hit a ball like that.
The damn thing had no arch on it whatsoever and it was still rising.
If it hit the wall, it would have been a double because it would have caromed past the outfielders and the infielders would have had to have chase it down.

Well, many criticized Arroyo-Pena. Let's say that without all those unforeseeable injuries to our SP's, that would have been a great trade. Pena IS potential... and coming through as well, before expected.
Of course, because of the injuries, Arroyo would have been more useful, but that's just second guessing.

Hog wash, don't squeeze in that agenda here.
There's no (or little) reason that the Sox couldn't have gotten a lesser player that would have still allowed them to keep their nuclous of young talant....say someone to come off the bench in the 9th to pinch run in tight games (ahlah Dave Roberts circa 2004) or another roll player that wouldn't have cost us the farm.

The hardest hit ball I've ever seen and Wily's might have been harder, was a rope over the center fielder's head off the bat of Cecil Fielder. At Fenway off the wall left of the 420 marker back to the CF who turned and fired and Cecil never had a chance about thinking double.

Yeah remember small deals like Freddy Sanchez and Mike Gonzalez in the deal for Jeff Suppan. If the Sox had kept those lower prospects they would have a solid infielder and a great RP to help the pen. Theo would have made a deal if one was available to be made. Remember he was the one who traded for Roberts so I'm sure that if something similar was available he would have done it. They were extremely close to getting Clemens.
