Easy to say being a fan on the couch vs. digging in at the plate....but I'll take 2 hit batsman at the bottom of the order in the 9th of a 1 run game any day of the week.

I just did some research to see how we've been faring against the AL. Here's what I wrote during Mirabelli's AB.
Enjoy!
Let's see how we've fared against the American League recently:
Lost a series in NY (1-2)
Split 4 games w/Texas
Swept in MN (0-3)
Lost 3-of-4 in TB
Won in Chicago
Lost 3-of-4 against Oak.
Swept KC
Beat Texas
Lost in Sea.
Won in Oakland
Lost to CA
Can't beat Cle.
So over a 36 game run, we have gone 16-21. This includes a 9-9 mark at Fenway. Where would we be if it weren't for KC and the National League??

Unbelievable. Not to be the spoil sport, but we have three miracle walk off wins or we would be 0-6 on this homestand. We need to start playing better baseball and Theo needs to have a sit down with Tito about his slow hook. Wells on Monday, Timlin tonight. Anyhoo, Beckett and Schill next. Let's get it rolling.

Think he would have faced Papi again if Loretta got one in?
Papi may have broken him on Monday.

That was possibly the most pathetic thing I've ever seen. That's called Fenway fans getting in your head. That's called getting this game giftwrapped.

Eck telling it like it is on the postgame show. On Carmona:

And the Indians continue their search for a closer.
A bigger melt down you will never see.
What the hell was that? From 0-2 with two strikes and no one one base to a bases loaded double in a span of like two minutes? That's insane.
Someone buy Carbona like 10 shots of tequilla to ease his pain.

give Loretta credit for having the balls to swing- he knows he is going to see something - pick a zone and swing- he coulda played for a walk.

Ortiz and his own manager broke him - not even having someone warmup until Loretta was up was pretty sad.

Can someone describe Loretta's hit?
A high arching shot to left center that hit halfway up the wall. Solid contact. It may have been a homerun in a lot of other parks.
