Great to hear Foulke is feeling stiffness in his back, great news for the bullpen

There was only one runner on, but Julio Lugo would have hit a grand slam there. No doubt in my mind.

You don't have to be Julio Lugo to hit higher than .235 with a .674 OPS on the road

As long as he isn't back here. How does his contract work? If he takes the $3.75M player option, can the Sox then just buy him out for $1.5M?

Two things to keep in mind: the Blue Jays were hard after Lugo at the deadline but didn't want to give up a top prospect......and they have money to spend with their new TV revenue rolling in.
I like Lugo. If he were to play for $5M, I'd have no problems......but he's going to get $8-9M over 5 years. That's too much.

I wouldn't give up a top prospect either at the deadline, as I'm perfectly fine with riding it out with AGonz the rest of the season.

I don't think we can buy him out if he exercises the player option. My understanding is that the team has two choices (team option or buyout), and Keith has one (player option). What I don't know is if he can just take the option and sit on the DL all year.....I would imagine he'd have to pass a physical?

I was just reading this in Simmons' new article:
"27) My bosses won't allow me to say which six announcers I would deport to Eastern Europe, but here are their initials jumbled together backwards: WBMABCMJMTBJ."
So far I have:
Joe Buck
Tim McCarver
Joe Morgan
Chris Berman
Who are the last two? AM and BW are the initials.

Luckily, we still have the lead, hopefully he bears down for the next 3 innings.
