I'm headed to RFK tonight for a Nats-Braves game, and when I come back after spending 2 hours on the Metro with sweaty, drunken fans, I expect to turn on the ESPN ticker and see that we have won. Is that clear?

You did see Verlander, he of the 2.95 ERA, is pitching, right?

Wells is a big game pitcher who continues to look better with each outing.
Let him bring his stuff and he will prevail.
If he wins, would it be in poor taste for the RSN to send him a dozen victory donuts?

Sox are due to bust out. Wells will continue his resurgence. Verlander is due for a bad game (is he, I don't really know).
One win. One win to create a small semblance of momentum before the Yanks come to town. With one win and the possible acquisition of LaTroy Hawkins, the Sox will no doubt play truly inspired baseball for a at least a month and a half.

We need to score here. We've wasted far too many situations like this this year.
I'll take it, but that was another lackluster offensive performance with RISP.
Verlander is really struggling with his command, we should be able to do some damage.

It would be great if the PA system played "Ice Cream Man" by Van Halen when Lidle walks out to the mound on Monday at Fenway (see Arthur Rhodes comments about how Lidle sat in the clubhouseduring gameshe did not pitch and ate ice cream while surfing the net).
