That's about right.
future consultant

Redcell
Crisp should count his blessings on that one. How's that gonna be scored?

That's about right, he got all of it. Anyone slower that Figgins wouldn't have gotten to it.

they've been very forgiving tonight - so who knows

even if Ortiz comes up, will they just walk him?
h0nus
please no GIDP - and probably shouldn't let Crisp steal

warning track but it was a line drive so I thought it would have at least been a double.

Gotta love this Angels Defense. it's like they all watched E-Rod's instruction videos. smile.gif
Redcell
That was close! (At least it looked that way... nope... replay shows he was safe by a mile)
future consultant
crisp steals!

Now that first is open.

But I'm being pessimistic.
Redcell
passed ball, passed ball, passed ball... c'mon, PLEASE!!!
BobHeise
Now Loretta must walk. Or get hit by a pitch. That's it--jump in front of one Mark! Just don't leave 1b open when Pai comes to the plate.

Redcell
Was his foot off the bag?!!!!
future consultant
hey now, he was pulled off the bag there
rogerpl
its all torture
Redcell
We just can't catch a freakin' break. Tito shoulda been out there.
future consultant
alright youk its all up to you
jacksonianmarch
do you pitch to papi here or do you put the go head run on base?
SnaveNel
Chickens!

Let's go Youk!
rogerpl
can we get a call -even a bad one
jacksonianmarch
looks like you put the go-ahead run on base. This sox team is now failing in the only area that they are good at. The offense is getting dragged down.
MDKing
Time to crush one, Youk.
Redcell
C'mon Youk! Crush it, baby!
jacksonianmarch
PR for Ortiz here!
Bergs
Francona LEADS OFF THE INNING WITH MANNY????????????

Crisp oughta be fn with his head back there.

DANG IT ALL!!!!!!
future consultant
oh man, that hurts, he really got into that

at least i can take solace in the possibility that the yankees could lose tonight too
MrNewEngland
Damn.

I'm going to bed.
Redcell
blub, blub, blub
jacksonianmarch
this sox team sucks.

While I appreciate your attempts at a f*cking Vulcan mind meld, I can assure you that I thought it was a bad move at the time and that I would have saved Manny to protect Papi in the event one (or more) of Pedroia, Crisp, Lorretta reached.

So blow me.
MDKing
One of these days we're going to score more runs than the other team.

I hope.
SnaveNel
good thing there are no razors in my house. Suck! Suck! Suck!

What's our record for consecutive losses? anyone know?
johungde
The Sox show some fight, but just can't get the job done.

you dont leave him on the bench when you are down by one run when he can easily tie it up.

Whatever the number is, 6 is too many

so berg serious question, if those 3 guys didn't reach, you would have been fine not using manny to ph?
Mystic Merlin

I'm not answering for him, but for me. I would have used him instead of Crisp or Loretta (depending on what Pedroia did), but not to lead off.

Probably I would have used Hinske for Crisp and Manny for Loretta actually.

I would have sent in Pedroia-Hinske-Manny-Ortiz. Shoot all the bullets.

Then again, I would have PH'd Hinske for Kapler previously, so I might not have had him, but if you're asking me just about the ninth, that's it...

thank you Ron Villone, something good has happened for tonight, ( very small, but still ) I suppose, I will take it!

That's the difference between a Coco Crisp and a Dave Roberts.
Flaming Mo
Well, congrats to Dustin Pedroia for his first MLB hit. Atleast something positive. Props also to the pitchers, they did their job and kept us in the game.

Another tough loss and even less confidence...

If you still have yankees on the mind, then you need to be brainwashed. The yankees are gone, done, winning the AL East. The sox should focus on the WC, a race that they had a chance to decrease their deficit in. Instead, they choke away another game.

Just saw the highlights, it looks like the sox were 100% DOA.

I wouldn't say that necessarily. They did get good performances out of Snyder and Gabbard, and MDC was effective. But defensive lapses and mistakes cost them, and the offense, as usual, can't score with the bases loaded.
