Angels hammering Cory Lidle like he should be, not like he's Roger Clemens or something as he appeared to be vs. Red Sox last Monday.

on this season (although we'll hang on until elimination).

Wait.
I thought Corey Lidle WAS Roger Clemens?
I mean, 'round here, it sounded like Theo let Sandy Koufax slip through his fingers when Lidle went to the Yankees...

I've heard that Manny will be back in the lineup tonight as our starting left fielder, I really wonder if it would be worth having him DH instead and allow Ortiz to play first

80% legs, 20% everything else Vlad Guerrero admires a ball he hits to right center, a 'la Manny, then turns on the jets (

Damon makes it 9 - 7 Angels with a 2 run HR off Shields, and for those that always say his power numbers this year are because of Yankee Stadium, 10 of his 22 HRs are on the road.

Note on CBS Sportsline GameCentr:
Jason Giambi of the Yankees left the game in the top of the 7th inning due to an injured wrist. I wouldn't wish any ill even on the beady-eyed Giambi, but it'd be "too bad" if he experienced a Cliff Floyd injury (circa 1995). Really, it
would be too bad, in a humanitarian way because THAT was an awful injury. But in a baseball anti-Yankee way?

And ARod has been abysmal offensively in this game, even though Torre moved him back up to the #2 spot. Didn't help. Some Yankee fans have been saying that he's been sick with the flu since Detroit...but I think he picked up something in Central Park....

He even was seen using one of Robinson Canoe's bats today - the guy is trying everything. I have a feeling that once (or if) he leaves the Yankees, he will get back on track

I'm curious about his status too, if Manny decides his knee is causing him too much pain, who do we have left to play in the outfield? Hinske and Kapler are already in the lineup and Pena is having wrist difficulties - so who can we turn to if not for Youk? Has Pedroia ever played in the outfield?

No, but you could put Dustin at 2nd, move Loretta to first, and put Hinske into the outfield.
I suggest that everyone here turn to ESPN and watch the LLWS international game. It's in the bottom of the 6th (a 6 inning game), Mexico is down 3 with the bases loaded and none out.

The M's broadcasters are speculating he might be injured, because in addition to his weakness, he's also using a strange way to throw the ball, using only his wrist and not his full arm.
If that were true, I guess they could score from second on a sac fly...
But his arm sucks, injury or no injury.
