Okay Curt, make it a slightly less depressing flight home by shutting out the A's. Can't wait to see the lineup. Any chance Loretta won't be hitting third again?

Sorry, I had to take a breath from laughing too hard. So when Theo only gets like a B-list prospect for Wells, are we going to call him an idiot?

Kapler bats 5th????
Seriously, what is he doing for Francoma that is being played like he is a hitting/fielding machine. Honestly, watching this roadtrip up until Oakland in person was bad enough, but seeing Kapler continuously giving up runs/doing nothing at the plate was what made it truly maddening.
Kapler=nice guy; horrifically bad player at this point.

In Terry's defense (for a change) he has no one else to put ANYWHERE.
Though I will admit.
It's going to be kinda comical watching Kapler try to go 6 for 6 today--- then he'd finally be at .200 for the last 2 months.
Yes that's right-- he needs to go 6 for 6.

We are down to 10 position players who can actually take the field...which 9 of them are in the field (or DH).
Which means the immortal Javy Lopez is the one bench bat we have. And he "plays" catcher and 1B.
Cross your fingers we don't ever have to see him today.

76 pitches and 4 runs given up, not one of his best that is for sure. I'm calling it now, barring injury, Oakland is going to represent the AL in the World Series. I'm not saying this because they are on the verge of sweeping our bad news bears lineup, but because they have a team that consists of excellent starting pitching, timely hitting and a strong bullpen.

Zito is cruising against our Triple A team. Well, we couldn't expect anything. The season is over, you can see Schilling would like to pitch good but he just doesn't have any fire left or motivation. We are done and the players know it. Youk coming in a moment late at second was a perfect image of the situation of our team, he really looked dissapointed and beaten up....

One thing is for sure. The Sox hype machine did a number on Pedroia. His swing is average at best.
He's a player that for the next 5 years will be compared to Cano as the MFYs second baseman. And this will be another position where the MFYs have a better player. The worst part is they're both home grown. It appears our $100m dollar developmental machine can't even grow prospects as well as the MFYs.
