Royal Rooters > THE COOLER > ROYAL ROOTERS ARCHIVES > 2006 REGULAR SEASON GAME THREADS
RedSoxAnni
Game time: 7:05 pm

Scheduled starters: Ted Lilly - (11-11, 4.78) v. Kyle Snyder (3-3, 6.91)

Boston weather: 2 pm observation at BOS: Wind out of the east at 13 mph, visibility 10 miles, few clouds at 3,000 feet, overcast layer at 20,000 feet, temperature 68F, DP 59F

Forecast: Cool and cloudy, with an east wind under 20 mph. High pressure over SE Canada is keeping dry air in the region, and we shouldn't see any low clouds tonight. The high will also tend to keep TD Ernesto to our west, but we are likely to get some rain from the eastern portion of the storm tomorrow.

The PawSox have moved their game from 6 pm to 1 pm in an attempt to get it in tomorrow ahead of the rain. It will be the last home game at Pawtucket. Right now, it looks like tomorrow night's Sox game at Fenway is in jeopardy. They may be able to play it, but there will be rain.
2bshorty
We're getting Ernesto right now. The eye is passing east of us, so it's basically drizzle, wind, and some power surges right now, but the wind's been getting worse as of late. We shall see. I don't think that predicted 8 inches of rain is going to happen, though.

No. But this is the very definition of Muzak.
rominer
This is the best game thread we've had all month!
2bshorty
All this news on Lester has me fretting about my lymph nodes sad.gif . I've got a decidedly enlarged gland on the left side, but I had an infection right there a month ago and I'm just getting over pharyngitis, so I suppose I should stop worrying. Still. . .I can't get this out of my mind.

And this game thread sucks.
rominer
Apparently, all the game thread regulars have gone on the DL.

Nice little game the Sox and Jays have going, too. Fewer hits between the two teams than there are posts in this thread. That ain't easy.
thanman2
OK, for those of us stuck at work...how did Glaus hurt his head?

He was in the on deck circle, and somebody told him that Pluto isn't a planet anymore.
future consultant
Wow, we got the blue jays at the right time, they couldn't hit the broad side of the barn. 8 K's for Snyder is amazing, Tito just might keep him out for the 8th at this rate

BTW Glaus is such a litte b*tch, sinus infection my ass, he is just sulking because Snyder made him look ridiculous
buffs4444
Anyone else thinking this is Gibbons way of telling Lilly, "Hey, you don't want to come out of your last start, tonight you can stay out there FOR-EVER!!!!!!!"

120 pitches, I thought Gibbon was going to exhaust him & then sucker-punch him.

How close was the play at the plate?
future consultant
And in other news, both Minnesota and Chicago are losing by substantial margins, is it wrong (or absolutely foolish) of me to hope for a September run? I know it is, but still. . .

Pedroia completely missed the plate from what the announcers were saying, I didn't get a second look, did anyone else get a look?

uhhh... Foulke is in ??? do I dare to ask WHY??? time will tell! now is the perfect time to have rain buckets falling down!

Lilly looks down to hand him the ball and takes one in the nose, gets his leg swept out, and Gibbons heads back to the dugout with Lilly still in the game.......that'd be sweet..... eek.gif

Good. The BJ's have been a real PITA the past 2 years. Glad to see their big off-season spending splurge went to crap. Now if we can pry Vernon Wells away . . . . . .
future consultant
Dirty water? Two night in a row? I like. Way to go guys, especially Mike Lowell
future consultant
vernon wells has been having a suprisingly average series against us so far
MakeMineMoxie
C'mon Paps, just get Overbite to hit into a DP and end this.

I'm struggling with Gamecast and this log. Wha'ppen? Did he injure himself throwing to first on pickoff atttempt or what?

And by the way thank you Mr. Breslow

It looked like as soon as he finished his delivery, he grabbed his shoulder. He knew right away something happened.

Talk about an unsatisfying win. What next, Pedroia gets HIV?
MakeMineMoxie
Nice to see the Water but Paps injury is a real nut punch.

Well...I would say cue that Dirty Water, but I don't see any reason to celebrate tonight.

What next? Hmmm...

I think an enormous hawk is going to swoop in and eat Mike Lowell.

When it rains, it pours...dirty water.

i wonder if those 2 inning saves have finally caught up to him

I think somebody'd better keep a close eye on Tito. He looks like he's cruising for another heart incident.
Doesn't look well at all.
