The lineup Francona put out there tonight is the one I have been waiting for for quite awhile, Youk in the lead-off spot and Pena in right. Not crazy about Lowell at the 5 spot, but with the way he played during the stretch without Ortiz and Manny, maybe it is not such a bad idea after all. Let's hope Jarvis can keep it close and go for 6 innings.

I'm not too optimistic. I mean, I was this morning. Not now, though. It's going to be tough to make a run without Javy Lopez.

Well, if Javy Lopez's .485 OPS with the Sox is any indicator, I'd rather see him in the lineup.
For the Royals, that is.
I was being sarcastic before.
Now that we're done playing the NL, though, Lopez will be missed. We can no longer count on Josh Beckett and his 1 HR, 3 RBI in the lineup. Javy's 0 HR, 4 RBI was the closest thing we had.

There are actually several players, both on the field and in the dugout, who have fallen and can't get up from laughing so hard at the sight of David Ortiz hitting a triple.
Could be awhile before they all get the medical attention they need.

Pauley is on the 60 day DL. Abe Alvarez is on the DL, according to the PawSox site.
Who else would they have called up? Why start the MLB service time clock on someone who isn't ready, just so they can pitch some garbage time games? They already dumped Jason Johnson. Who else was out there on the scrap heap?

why not bring up some kids to get some MLB experience for a month in garbage time? It could help their development. Now I have a question. If a guy is brought up and starts one game, then gets demoted again, does the clock keep ticking? I am not sure. If not, then there is no reason why the sox dont just bring up one of the young kids and give them a shot.

no way do you allow one of your scrubby relievers challenge Ortiz, he has hit the ball well tonight, Manny on the other hand got lucky and got a a seeing eye single. Dumb move there and the Royals are likely going to pay for it, but then again, they still have to face our pen

Look, I can't argue with Tito about bringing in Timlin given the state of our bullpen, but why, oh why, bring in Kapler in a 1 run game?!?!?!?! Does Tito ever learn?????
If game is tied or we losing by one, it's great to know Kapler will be an easy out. Dumb ass. We need to DFA this guy so Francoma is tempted to use him anymore.
