Game time: 7:05 pm
Scheduled starters: Mark Redman (9-8, 5.26) v. Josh Beckett (14-10, 5.11)
Boston weather: 3 pm observation at BOS: Wind out of the southwest at 15 mph, visibility 10 miles, few clouds at 6,000 feet, temperature84F, DP 55F.
Forecast: A cold front approaching from the northwest may bring some showers and thundershowers during the early evening, around game time. The activity along the front seems to be diminished, and there isn't a lot of cold air aloft or a lot of moisture in the atmosphere, so it's not likely that we'll get significant convective activity. I was out flying all morning and early afternoon, and the air is stable, with very little vertical development. Earlier this afternoon, there were some cumulus forming at around 5,000 feet, and BOS is reporting scattered clouds at 6,000 feet, but they weren't developing vertically. There were some thunderstorms in central VT and moving through the Albany area at 3:45 pm, but they appear to be diminishing in intensity and coverage as they move southeast.
We could see some light showers this evening, and there could be a thundershower in the mix, but the worst case is a rain delay. They'll be able to play the game.
The wind will be out of the southwest early in the evening, at less than 15 mph. That's blowing out toward left. After frontal passage, the wind will come around from the north.

The Red Sox website had Redman, but the lineup has Hudson, so I guess that's who it is...
Edit: I just posted a story from the Kansas City Star in the newslinks... The reporter said that Hudson and Redman were going to swap starts, so that must have been the reason for the confusion on the Sox Website.

Hudson was lights out against the yankees. Wait him out, get into that soft pen. BUT, the key to this game is Beckett sacking up and taking it to the royAAAAls. So far, the immortal Joey Gathright of the .231AVG is killing the sox right now. 1-0 AAA team.

I guess the Red Sox are not the only ones who look they they have packed it in. Boy this thread is not going to make it to page 2. I must confess that I am not watching either but listening to the Sea Dog game.

Well I'm trying to watch the Sox from the TV in one room and listen to the Sea Dogs on the computer in another, so I am spending most of my time standing in the hall.
At least the Sox have tied the game up now if Portland could do the same.
