RedSoxAnni
Game time: 7:05 pm

Scheduled starters: Kason Gabbard (1-3, 3.93) v. Daniel Cabrera (7-9, 4.84)

Baltimore weather: 1 pm observation at BWI: Wind out of the east at 12 mph, visibility 10 miles, broken clouds at 5,500 feet and at 12,000 feet, temperature 60F, DP 44F

Forecast: High pressure over southern Quebec and the low associated with Hurricane Florence offshore is keeping cold air over the mid-Atlantic region. It's colder in Baltimore than it is in Boston and New York this afternoon. It will be in the upper 50's at game time, and it could be in the lower 50's by the time the game is over. The wind will remain out of the east, but at less than 10 mph. That's blowing across from right to left, slightly in from right.

Today is my last Sox game I'll be going to for the season. It's kind of depressing. So far I'm 0/2 this year - so KARMA is on my side tonight and we'll pull out a win!!

Camden Yards - I'm undefeated thus far (record-wise)! Lets keep the streak alive!

With that record, I have to assume your attendance has been all post ASB?

We're in trouble. Cabrera's now wearing glasses. This could be just like Ricky Vaughn in Major League.

Youkilis strikes out. What's he doing at the top of the order anyway? DFA him. wink.gif
Loretta singles. Sign him up for next year, quick!
Christ, Papi! No MVP for you.
BostonSox37
Now Pena takes a fastball to the left wrist.

This run of bullshit luck and breaks is never going to end.

Gabbard injured ? I missed it? 4.2 IP and doesnt appear to have really high PC, just under 90

Sox say strained rib cage-- but he was looking at his hand when he left the field-- blister?
SFFM38
wow damn, this has to be one of worst injuries list for red sox as a team for last 7 years or so!! ( from what I can remember ) never seen this bad, do you agree ?

I'm just waiting for the entire team, managers and training staff to be quarantined due to a TB outbreak. That's the only thing left. That and scurvy
BobHeise
Anyone watching? How did Hansen look? I'm guessing the run he yielded was unearned, since there was an error involved to keep the inning alive. He'd pitched 3 scoreless frames since his recall and I'm hoping he can finish this season on a high note.

Uh oh, MDC just gave up his second hit of the 7th inning.
BobHeise
But Manny whiffs Millar and induces an inning-ending grounder from Newhan. Still 6-1 going to the 8th. The tension is just incredible.

Nice 8th by Foulke. Monologues are fun sometimes.

Especially when you talk to yourself about vaginas.
Hey, that gives me an idea for an off-broadway play. No, wait, damn!
SFFM38
can someone please confirm this for me, Timlin's contract is just 1 year ( this year ) and thats it right? I cannot hate this guy but he just stress me out too much! I would like to let him go on a good note, he ate alot of innings for us since 2002 ? ( or was it 2003 )
yazgoesbacklooksupitsgone
Mike Timlin gives up a bomb.
What a vagina!

great, now you got me doing it.
Redcell
Hmmm... Timlin trying to give the game away. Oh! Oh! I've SEEN this one before!

LargerMass
Thats you Mike. Way to go Buddy.
MFLetou
This is kind of funny.
Farmer Ted
Uh-oh.
Redcell
I was gonna say "un-freakin'-believable" but this is TOTALLY believable.

I think I'll go and get the cattle prod out.
Ralpho316
I dunno whats funnier...Timlin sucking or this game only maken 2 pages
roidrage
Should I be really concerned that Timlin is doing all he can to give this game away, and I don't really care?
Bergs
He pitched really well. Good location. The offense should have scored more runs. He made his pitches, they just hit 'em.

Farmer Ted
Thank god Javy Lopez is in. Oh, wait.

If Paps was pitching, we would have been out by now by a long shot!! damn this sucks

And Javier Lopez is your new closer!!!

best part is Timlin doesnt get the "S" credit, Lopez got the save for just 0.1 inning pitched while Timlin did 0.2 6H 4R now thats unacceptable espically being in the 9th inning and up by 5 runs

I'm not sure I'd go that far. As much as he's pissed me off the second half, he's served us well in the past. That being said, is it time for him to go? Yeah, I'd say so.

Tavarez is our stopper in the rotation. Javy (I don't wear shinguards) Lopez is our closer. It's bizarro world Red Sox.

Or, maybe it's just a mid-September game between two also rans.

You know what they say about top closers coming into non-save situations...they just don't bear down and quite often almost blow it. I've seen it happen to Wagner, Street, Nathan, and who else this year? That was tongue in cheek. Too bad, looks like Timlin is either hurt or finished. Like someone said though, he'll probably land on his feet somewhere in the NL next year. Thanks for the memories, Mike.

I changed my mind about Timlin (as if you were all hanging, waiting for this)...I think he'll hang it up, making the Red Sox his last team.

After Timlin walked off the mound and it was just Tek and Tito, I thought I saw Tito say, "He's done." I don't read lips, but it certainly did look like that was what he said. If he did, I happen to agree with him. I was hoping JVB's avatar saying Timlin was cooked was wrong, but now, not so much.
