That's just in the WS, home-field for the first two rounds is still up for grabs. Shoulda been more specific about that....
BobHeise
Trot with the two-run shot. Wonder how long that was between homers for him? Who would've thunk we'd be this competitive in a doubleheader with Snyder and Jarvis as our starters.

What a relief that we're spared the final indignity of letting the Yanks wrap up the divison in our presence.

Unless the yankees completely collapse, I dont see them losing it to the tigers. The tigers are just horrible right now and they have 3 against CWS still left. The yankees have the easiest sched left too.
johungde
Just tuned in in time to see posada get a cheap jack double and Hansen come in to make mincemeat out of Matsui.

Nope, I guess all 3 of you are sucking @ss? Did I read that wrong?
johungde
Hansen a bit wild tonight, but overall looked good.

Lopez was awesome against Abreu, outside corner at the knees 3 straight pitches for the K.

Boston has a young version of Mike Myers.

Now we'll see the real Mike Myers, against Papi.
czar
Kapler = worthless.
johungde
God, I can't wait until I never have to see Kapler play again. What a bum!

The Sox roster, even expanded, is pathetic. Kapler and Mirabelli as PH?

I guess WMP is under house arrest or something.
johungde
Myers must think he's still in the Red Sox BP.

He's hurt, but I did forget about him.

Youks could have PH.

I swear, I've never seen Kapler do anything but hit weak little rollers and pop up. All those muscles going to waste.

The only bad thing about this comeback is that Jeter will probably get another AB.
SFFM38
Krapler should just retired and start doing male modeling for some kind of shows/magazine stuff
czar
God I was thinking-- man I can't believe Tito is letting Lopez pitch to Posada...

But then I realized.

Coco Crisp sucks.
Redcell
What a sweet catch by Coco! Man, if he could be consistent at the plate he'd be money.
yazgoesbacklooksupitsgone
Did you see that catch Coco made? (eyebrow flexing)
BigSlick
Did you SEE that catch that Coco made?!?!?!?!

A future Governor for California?

I like the way Lopez looked against LHH, but he lucked out against Posada.

Jackson keeps calling Lopez "Myers."

Tito did get his LOOGY and he's younger and throws harder than Myers.
Redcell
A nice at bat by Coco. Damn lucky to boot.
Preacher
Wow, nice 5 bounce throw coming from shallow center. Crisp could have done much better (maybe a 3 bouncer)
johungde
It all worked out, by why was Coco bunting?

Hilarious watching Williams's weak throw.
Redcell
And another steal. Where has this version of Coco been hiding?
johungde
The Sox are getting all the little breaks now. They could have used some in August.
SFFM38
Krapler is batting , 3 beers says he either Ked out or FO
Redcell
At least the lead is safe. Judas will pinch hit and Timlin is warming up. /s

johungde
Three swings from Kapler: a dribbler, a pop foul and a weak miss. His Boston career in a nutshell.
ivebeentruped
Gee, is it really a good idea to have Timlin pitch 3 times in two days?
johungde
The Yankees do look like champions -- until they get into their BP.

Timlin getting hit rather hard.

Sox win! Yay! g'night.

Well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad at all. How many hits did Jeter get today?

Yes! Sox win 2, Jeter's streak is over.

It doesn't mean much, but it's a little something.

Yeah! Dirty water.
SFFM38
thank you bosox.gif payback time is bitter sweet!! we nearly swept them!! if it wasnt WMP horrible butchered plays ( 2 times ) we might have had a chance to sweep them!!, however if someone had asked me if I thought we could take 3 out of 4 against MFY I would have said no ****ing way!!!

EDIT: forgot to mention its nice to see Jeter snapping his 25 games hitting streak!!! AHHH! good stuff

Timlin getting hit rather hard.

I thought Timlin looked fantastic last night. What more can you ask from him than throwing 93 with tons of movement at the knees? He touched 95 on one of his pitches. He threw 9 strikes in 11 pitches and got his second save of the day. I wonder if any other Sox pitcher has ever recorded two saves in the same day at the Toilet. I kind of doubt it.

I think i'd hit 90 on an ESPN gun and I can't break a wet paper bag with a fastball. Point taken though, good that he's locating a little better and not walking tons of guys. I'm still glad he's not our permanent solution at closer (get well Papelbon).
