Peter Gammons is returning tomorrow. But in this article, it says that Jeff Brantley is on the way out at ESPN... Thank God.

Gammons coming and Brantley going is the media equivalent of replacing Javy Lopez with Jason Varitek.

You know the old saying about being careful what you wish for. If Brantley's departure means more time for Orestes Destrade or Tino Martinez, then I will miss Jeff Brantley.

Eck should really be on a national show like BBTN.

So if they get rid of the next guy, Rick Sutcliffe (who I think is actually worse than Brantley) we'd get Forest Gump or Gomer Pyle?

I haven't watched much BBTN in the past month or so - is Destrade that bad? He struck me as being fairly reasonable the few times I did see him.

I agree with you about Tino - from what I've seen, he brings nothing to the table.

Orestes is on XM's morning baseball show and is very intelligent, witty, and brings good insider basball insight to the table-a nice job overall, so give him a chance on BBTN with its quick snippet format. I think that it is hard to shine quickly on that show.
