CARLOS Pena in LF?

That's what came over the wire! I guess we wait for them to announce the lineups.
rpry17a
At least we get to be dominated by a good pitcher tonight!
RedSoxAnni
And Carlos Pena IS in left field. His last game in the outfield was in winter ball a couple years ago.

Okay, well, this season had a silver lining.

Well, it's not really silver. It's tin foil. But, still, we saw history.

Please calm yourself. I know this moment was very exciting but please, show some restraint. tongue.gif

I was right! Yesterday's game thread, I said, HR in his next two AB for the big guy.

We should be celebrating David Ortiz, but I think that, in some small way, right now we should be celebrating me.
WakefieldKnucklehead
Big huzzah for David.

And what fine prognostication skills from the Rominer.

What is your next predication, oh swami?
rominer
I predict that I will crack open a beer when I get home.

Lotto numbers?

It was a nice attempt by Gonzalez there on jump/spin/throw while in the air, but I don't think he would have had him even if the throw was on line.

Nice DP there.

Chris Berman just pointing out we're still alive if we win today........ja, ja........he didn't really say it seriously but it is still funny.

This one for all the Loretta haters: Berman sez Sox may break up the infield again, don't know if Lowell will be back, and Berman can't believe this one "talk of Loretta not coming back, he's been one of the best Red sox all year". laugh.gif

Wasn't this how it was supposed to be? 7 scoreless innings from Beckett? Oh well....

I have to admit I thought this would be the score today...only the other way around.

I came THIS close to posting in here at 4:00 PM that Beckett was going to outduel Santana.

Not much of a duel, but I need to trust my gut more often...

BTW, I have been very VERY impressed with the pitch selection tonight. Whether that's a chance or a two-seamer that he's throwing in the high 80's-mid 90's, he's keeping the Twins off balance and from making solid contact.

I love this Duo- going on right now. Papi is furthering his case for MVP by knocking around Santana while Beckett diminishes the two batters in the hunt.

The water is the dirtiest when it is unexpected. Too little too late, I'm afraid. And Beckett's performance is frustrating in a way. We know he can do it, which makes us more desperate to find out why in the heck he doesn't do it consistently.

Papi is da man. He's clearly our MVP (again). Can't, however, say that he is the league's MVP. Sigh.
