Well I, for one, am still looking for brightsides. Beckett will make his 33rd start tongith. Assuming he lasts two innings, he will have pitched 200 innings for the year. These are things we would have been very happy about back in March. Josh has also already set a personal high for wins in a season. This is a good thing.

He also has a shot to keep his ERA under 5.00. This is more of a pyrrhic victory, as we all would have been quite depressed by that number back in March. And let's not talk about home runs allowed. Setting a career high in walks allowed is also not great, and unless he strikes out 17 tonight, he won't match last year's total there. Yes, Josh has been a disappointment.

So, let's go out on a high note, shall we? Give us fans something nice to mull over through the cold winter. Your competition tonight is not stiff, either at the plate or on the mound. Get it done.

Papi: 62 is not out of the question, but to get there you'll need to start hitting more than one per game. Tonight is a good time to start.

Let's win, boys. Just for the heck of it.

Looks like Beckett can give up homeruns with the wind blowing IN! He may have a chance at getting his ERA over 5.00 tonight if he keeps this up!

Ortiz was headed towards first without even seeing that fourth pitch.

I just woke up (in bed with the flu), and I am seeing that Beckett has 8 unearned runs. WTF happened?

Sorry, but the runs are all earned! The hits just kept on coming.

Beckett will end the season with an ERA over 5.00.

Aye, my mistake. Thanks for correcting that, and providing the info. I'm going back to sleep; this is just TOO ugly to continue watching.

Flipped on the game tonight (WEEI) just as the eighth run scored in the 7th. Flipped it right off. I flipped the Sox off, too. Can we at least get a freakin' effort?
RedSoxAnni
And Beckett ends the season with an ERA of 5.01. There's no way I expected that back in April. Meanwhile, Anibal Sanchez is 9-3 with an ERA of 2.80.

I was at the game tonight, and I can tell you all that it was the ugliest atmosphere I've ever experienced in that park. EVER.
This season can't end soon enough for me.

Hand-in-hand with Levi Strauss.

Besides, Sanchez's ERA would be like, tripled in the AL. And my postman could throw a National League no-hitter. No big whoop.

Make that 10-3 and 2.83.

Well, at least there were a few ups in last nights game.

Pedrioa got 2 hits
Murphy got a hit with 2 walks
Ortiz got 3 walks (increasing his OBP and with it his chance of MVP)

And again Hansen and Delcarmen didn't give up a run.

Yeah, I'm sure the few ticks up in the OBP will make the difference for the MVP voters. The way this season is ending is disgusting, don't these guys have any dignity left?

Well he does have a commanding lead in walks. He has 114 now compared to Jeter's 60.

I doubt 1 HR would have made the difference as well. It just makes his numbers look a little prettier.
