Man, Drew is red hot this spring. Just had a great AB: bases loaded, 2 outs, works the count full, fouls off some pitches and then singles right back up the middle to drive home two. Just about t he only guy on the team doing anything at the plate.

Matsuzaka is really good. Great stuff

3 Fly

7 Groundouts

7 K

Really good
WesternCorrespondent
All three of the ESPN talking heads, even Hershiser, seemed pretty negative about the Red Sox' offseason roster changes and how Matsuzaka looked the first couple of innings. Then when DKM seemed to get stronger and more aggressive, they were fawning all over him, and they stopped talking about JD Drew's contract.

Then they had the nerve to let Dickie V, a YANKEE fan, in the booth.

The Three Stooges and a pitcher who should know better...

Anyone know why Matsu was pulled in the middle of an inning? Pitch count?

FYI, Okajima is pitching on Nesn right now

Drew's doing a lot this spring to boost my confidence in him. Here's hoping he stays productive & healthy this year.

Well when healthy, Drew is a very very good player, but as we all know, he trouble staying healthy. Here's to a healthy, productive season warren.gif

A few things irked me about the announcers. For one, some cowbell wassaying that Loretta and A-Gon were major contributers last year and that we downgraded at both positions. I had a little laugh when they showed the Sox's "key loses". One more thing that pissed me off was that one announcer kept saying "this is what a lefty specialist is supposed to do, blah blah blah" when refering to Okajima. Even the other announcer tried to tell him that Francona said he's going to be used for more than just that role, but that didn't matter to him.

Anyways, I'm glad we got Drew based off this off-season because WMP is one person who has to showcase himself this spring and he has failed to do so. Than again, Crisp hasn't been too hot either.

Great outing from Dice-K.

Matsuzaka's offspeed pitches looked sick ... and it was nice seeing him dial up the fastball to 94-96 several times

Pedroia a downgrade from Loretta? This is news to me. And everyone in the world knows why they replaced A-Gon with Lugo. They needed more offense! God, if Steve Phillips is doing today's Red Sox game I'm going to tear me eyeballs out!
