Game time: 7:05 pm
Scheduled starters: Justin Verlander (3-1, 2.83) v. Tim Wakefield (4-3, 1.79)
The game will be on NESN.
Boston weather:
3 pm observation at KBOS: Wind out of the west southwest at 20 mph with gusts to 26 mph, visibility 10 miles, few clouds at 16,000 feet, 25,000 scattered, temperature 78F, DP 49F
Forecast: Unsettled. The showers that came through eastern NE earlier are from a decaying MCS that was in the Great Lakes area yesterday. There are some showers in VT and central NY, and it looks like some convection out around Utica/Syracuse. (Any reports from the Rooters out there? Cornell????), so the upstream showers and t-storms could affect us later this evening. The winds at 2,000 feet were reported at 60 mph at noon. With the breaking up of the overcast and surface heating, some of that air could mix at the surface. We are seeing that at KBOS right now, with gusty southwest winds.
It's going to be warm tonight, with a chance of showers, but most likely not enough rain to stop the game. There will be a gusty west to southwest wind, possibly over 30 mph. A west wind blows straight out, and a southwest wind blows out to left.
