I think we've got this one.
I mean come on.. we had our 5th starter last night, a depleted bullpen, and the entire bench was in the game.
And we still almost won.
Tonight we have our 3rd starter (who could really be our 2nd), our usual line-up, and well-rested Okajima and Papelbon.
I think we'll be ok.

Wow, Lugo hit a ball hard that didnt go right at a fielder... maybe his luck is finally changing..
Its only a matter of weeks until everyone can write articles about how "no one could see" Lugo turning it around like this.

Not only that but even if the batter isn't trying to sneak a look for location he knows when the catcher stands up.

Enough is enough. Trade Crapo Crisp already. No more excuses for him, he simply is not a good Major League Baseball ballplayer.
Trade him for anything. A bag of balls, Lou Pinella, whatever has little value right now. Even A-Rod's mouth is more productive than Coco Crisp.

I'd almost rather see Coco bunt everytime he's up...even with two outs. The only thing I'm sure he can do well is run, so might as well give us our best odds at his at bats.

But, Did you see that catch that.... oh nevermind.
Actually I'd rather they brought up Ellsbury, see how he adapts and if all goes well then dump Crisp.

Jun 5 2007, 10:42 PM
Yeah, it might be Ellsbury time. The kid will AT LEAST give us the ONLY thing that Coco gives - speed. Dump Crisp now while some moron GM thinks he might still blossom into something.
The guy is just so terrible. Even if Crisp hit .300 for the rest of the year it wouldn't make up for how much he's hurt us already. Everytime he's up it's a chopper somewhere in the infield, he clearly has terrible hand/eye coordination.

Of course this won't happen since his trade value will be actually a bag of balls at that point, but there is something to be said for throwing in a rookie for the first time in the MLB when we have such a large lead at this point. Not a bad time actually to try different things and see what sticks when you have room to make mistakes.
