Game time: 7:05 pm

Scheduled Starters: Josh Fogg (1-5, 5.06) v. Curt Schilling (6-2, 3.49)

The game will be on NESN.

Boston weather;

3 pm observation at KBOS: Wind out of the northeast at 23 mph with gusts to 30 mph, visibility 7 miles, scattered clouds at 1,700 feet with 2,500 overcast, temperature 55F, DP 47F.

Forecast: What you see is what you get. We're stuck between two nearly stationery systems, a low off to the northeast and a high to the northwest. Right now we've got low clouds and a northeast flow bringing moisture into the area. It's cold, raw, and drizzly. And it will continue to be cold, raw, and drizzly.

It will be in the low 50s at game time. The wind will be out of the northeast, which is blowing in from left. At 3 pm, the wind at KBOS was gusting to 30 mph. The wind should settle down a bit later this afternoon, but if you're going to the game, wear warm clothes!

Looks like fog in the air and Fogg on the mound. Let's light up that fogg tonight. We can do better than two runs off the Rockies this time.
Youuuuk!
Alright...Schill's gonna win tonight and set up the sweep.
I hope.

Yeah..that was discussed in the lineup thread. Apparently Cora has a good record against Fogg. Although I would have preferred sitting Lugo instead, but that's ok.
killjoy
Why am I blacked out on mlb.tv here in NYC again tonight? This is ridiculous.
Sweet sox
Move to Scotland dude...you have to stay up til midnight but there's no blackouts!
buffs4444
Just Lugo being Lugo.. banghead.gif
BigSlick
Lugo ended the perfect game for Schill early this time.
czar
Julio Lugo is pretty much my favorite Red Sox of all time.

You must be a Yankees fan.

Hmm...between that, the girls' accents and the chips, it's tempting.
Sweet sox
Chips = fries? or Chips = Crisps?

Cheese and Chips(fries) is the reason to come here biggrin.gif

Locklandworth
Hey Schill... Hey Red Sox... IT'S THE ****ing ROCKIES FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
killjoy
Chips = fries.

Jeebus, not liking this game so far at all. Curt needs to settle down and Sox bats need to wake the F up.
MDKing
Sh*tty luck this inning. We need to beat up Fogg (how hard can it be?)
czar
Son of a... you have to be kidding me.
killjoy
Upon reflection, listening to this game on Gameday Audio is bad enough. I'm glad I'm blacked out - don't want to see this....
MDKing
I can't believe Lowell threw to first when he had no chance of getting Holliday. Really stupid play.
rominer
I can't believe we're losing to a guy from Lynn, MA.

Has anything good ever come from Lynn? Ever?
Youuuuk!
Who was it that said Lowell was slumping?
rominer
There we go. Lowell > Lynn. And not just because the crack is cheaper.

killjoy
Lowell taketh away and Lowell giveth...

Harry Agganis? Lyndon LaRouche?
buffs4444
Ken Hill was from Lynn & had a decent career.

64 pitches thru 3 innings. Well, at least the bullpen is rested.
MDKing
That may have been the worst AB I've ever seen.
matty2578
Is Lugo serious? He can't get a runner home from third with less than two outs? enraged.gif
SoxFan4Life
Is Lugo even trying...
MDKing
Lugo and Crisp back-to-back is just brutal.
bigbilly
Crisp and Lugo back-to-back should get Tito fired.
Bozzs
LUGO AND CRISP BOTH SUCK...That is all smile.gif
matty2578
Crisp + Lugo = http://blog.scifi.com/tech/pics/garbage.jpg
Youuuuk!
Neither of them even tried for a sac fly.
The bastards.
Locklandworth
DFA them both, not tomorrow, not a week from now, right now. I want to see them both walking out of the dugout, uniforms off, wearing burlap sacks.
DesertDirtDog
Lugo and Crisp look like they've never held a bat before this season... How can they continue to look this bad?
killjoy
Meanwhile, Yanks up 7-1 in the 4th on bombs from Posada, A-Rod and Hideki.

Wow, it's a good thing the Yanks are out of challenging the Sox for the division. Just check the "State of the AL East" thread where they were written off weeks ago!

Very simple reason. They're terrible.

EDIT: Just like this game is terrible...6-2.
DesertDirtDog
Curt's pitching like Lugo hits........................ barf.gif
MDKing
Schilling has been wildly inconsistent this season. You have no clue what you're going to get when he starts.
rominer
Just stop the bleeding. Right now, the task before the Sox is simply that they have to score 7 runs in a game in which Josh Fogg was the starter. That is not an unreasonable task.

I dare say we've got them right where we want them.
bigbilly
With the way this offense has been going the past week, 6 runs seems out of reach. frown.gif

That's ok, they only need 5.

Wait until Timlin comes in...
DesertDirtDog
I think it's time to put in Hinske and Mirabelli... Too bad we aren't in Colorado with Wake pitching, we could add Wake and WMP...

Here's the line up that would strike fear in any pitchers heart:

Lugo
Coco
Manny
WMP
Drew
Lowell
Hinske
Belli
Wake

barf.gif

I think I could get 7 of them out.
fiftyeight
Josh Fogg, another loser of a pitcher holding us to only 2 runs. Why does this team have so much trouble with below average pitchers??

JD is back to form. Crisp, Lugo and Drew WTF!!!!!

What is with the Dunkin Donut highlights?? I don't want to see that shit!!!
Youuuuk!
Why..why in the name of God do we have hard times against mediocre pitching?
fiftyeight
Snyder with back to back walks to start the 6th. Great
