Forecast: Right now, we've still got an easterly flow in the coastal area, which is keeping the temperature cooler than it is inland, where the winds are south to southwest. That should happen in Boston later in the afternoon, and it should get into the upper 70s. Twenty miles inland the temperatures are already in the 70s, and the dew points are close to 60F.

The weather wrinkle today is a pool of cold air "upstairs" and increasing heating at the surface, combined with a good deal of moisture in the air. This combination can fire off isolated severe thunderstorms. This is more likely to happen inland, west of 495, where there's been heating all morning and where the dew points are higher. However, there could be an isolated thunderstorm anywhere. Any storms will likely be of short duration, but they could be intense. There already are some storms firing off in the Westfield area, so be forewarned.

I now this has become a staple of every Saturday afternoon game thread, but I hate FOX! In the Philly market I am stuck with Braves/Indians because my $160 a year for EI isnt good enough for Saturday games.

I'm praying the upstate NY market is going Sox/Giants over Braves/Indians.

I love these 10:00 p.m. weekend starts. Put the kids to bed, get some quality time with my wife, then drink myself silly watching the Sox. I must say I'm more encouraged by Mr. Cain's record than his ERA. Let's hope the bats have come back to stay for a while. And let's hope Dice-K plunks Bonds his first time up. Just to say "Sadaharu Oh hit more home runs than you ever will, and he did it on sushi and sake."

But most of all, JUST WIN.

As Kenny Albert and McCarver are talking about Ozzie Smith compared to Omar Visquel, they mention how remarkably similar their offensive numbers are, and then McCarvers uses the example of how Smith has 13 gold gloves and Vizquel has 11. I wasn't aware that Gold Gloves are now considered an offensive category.

Dice's best inning is his last. 112 pitches should be enough. With Okajibon available, no need to tax him further. Would be nice if we could find the BATS, though!!!
