Game time: 2:05 pm
Scheduled starters: Matt Morris (7-3, 2.56) v. Tim Wakefield (6-7, 3.92)
The game will be on NESN.
Boston weather: 10 am observation at KBOS: wind out of the west at 3 mph, visibility 10 miles, few clouds at 20,000 feet, scattered clouds at 25,000 feet, temperature 77F, DP 59F.
Forecast: Summertime! It should get into the mid-80s by game time, with a west wind, which will be blowing out, and which will slow the knuckler. There's a slight chance of popup thundershowers this afternoon, but probably not as great a propability as yesterday, when there were some severe storms west of 495. The upper air is warmer today with the southwest flow, and the atmosphere is a bit more stable than it was yesterday. The dew points are rising, though. All in all, it'll be a summer day, with some high clouds and a touch of humidity.

A win makes it a 4-2 homestand, which looks just fine to me.

Figures-- Coco finally doesn't look like total crap at the plate and he gets the day off

Here's to hoping WMP doesn't trip over himself in the OF. Or crash into Manny. God that has the makings of two tractor trailers hitting head on.
Youuuuk!

What a weird day to put WMP in seriously..oh well. Hope Coco can continue his positive trend tomorrow.
And yeah..let's hope Wake doesn't get many flies to center..because that might be painful.

Bases loaded 0 outs. Terrific start.

It's probably to compensate for having Mirabelli in the lineup. Kudos, Tito.

He is. He gave up three runs to Toronto in the first inning last week and then cruised the rest of the way for a CG win. Just struck out the side, but degree of difficulty with those three batters maybe a 3.

Let's hope he doesn't cruise for the rest of this. Especially because it looks like they are going to put a few runs up this inning.

Yup. First run(s) for the Giants in 19 innings. When Wakefield puts that knuckler up around letter high, my grandmother could hit it.

Papi with the ground rule double. Should be umps' discretion how far the runner goes. Doesn't matter. And, Youks wants on the all star team. Lowell too! No cruise control for Morris today.

You don't get an RBI on a double play, therefore, Manny did not get an RBI in the first inning.

The Giants have some excellent announcers: Mike Krukow, Duane Kuiper and Jon Miller, but today we get (on KNBR) Greg Papa. So far, he's given us Dustin PedroiO, Wily Mo Pinnya, and he said Johnny Pesky told him he hit 17 homers one year and 13 of them curled around the foul pole, hence, Pesky's Pole. Johnny had 17 in his whole
career.! Oh well, I like the whole scene today, esp. the score. They should have more day games. Nothing like walking up the ramp and seeing the whole expanse of green, the monster, the bullpens, the sellout crowd and the blue sky when the sun is shining.
