Game time: 7:05 pm

Scheduled starters: Curt Schilling (6-3, 3.80) v. Chuck James (5-6, 4.16)

The game will be on NESN and on ESPN

Atlanta weather: 2 pm observation at KATL: wind out of the east at 6 mph, visibility 10 miles, scattered clouds at 6,000 and 24,000 feet, temperature 90F, DP 65F

Forecast: It should be a warm and humid summer night with a slight chance of showers. Some of the stations around ATL are reporting buildups, so it won't be surprising if there are a couple showers or thunderstorms in the area. There's more of a chance of rain tomorrow, though, from a system that's on the TX/LA border right now.

The winds in the area are variable, but it looks like the wind will be west to southwest this evening, but at less than 10 mph. That is blowing out toward right, more toward the line than toward center.

Youuuuk!
Yay for two nationally televised games in a row.
Woot.

Not my favorite lineup of all time.
Youuuuk!

Nice double up.

Not too bright Willie Harris though. Coco made it look easy.

I gotta say, Coco Crisp home runs make me very happy.

Holy hell! Am I seeing things?

Bam-Bam!

Thx Coco!
Youuuuk!
That extra work with Magadan on his stance is defiently paying off.

I know we're all excited about Crisp, but let's not go overboard here...... mellow.gif

So is it possible they weren't making up this whole "Dave Magadan has helped Coco make some adjustments to his swing"?

4 for his last 5, 6 for his last 11. And he's only struck out twice this month.
czar
What is this crap? I go finally get in the shower after working out, and mah boy goes yard?

Viva la Crisp!

I really like Coco's new stance, swing, the whole enchilada. He turned on that ball with a vengeance! crisp.jpg

If only he were a foot t-... Oh wait.
MDKing
Great play by Pedroia.
Jermaine Van Buren Fan
How many steps is Loretta away from that ball? 8?
MDKing
Schilling has absolutely nothing tonight; let's hope for some more runs.

Straight up.
I haven't seen anyhing above 87.
Pedro El Grande
That ER should go to Drew that allowed him to reach 2B.

You can't blame Drew. He doesn't really know the ballpark.

Well, Atlanta was only a one-year stop on the J.D. Drew Tour De Greed.
Youuuuk!
Look at Crisp go!
MDKing
This home plate umpire sucks. He's been squeezing Schilling but giving James tons of borderline calls.
TreeRol
We have our new shortstop!

Lugo heading for the Mendoza line.
Jermaine Van Buren Fan
I wonder if he'll ask for an extension again...
czar
This sucks.
buffs4444
C'mon Curt!! Get your sh*t together out there.
Pedro El Grande
13M my as*!

This is brutal. Schilling is a worse pitcher than Tavarez now.
Ralpho316
He's been so erratic this year, its not even funny
Pedro El Grande
Bring Snyder ASAP.

I thought he was settling into a consistent good-bad-good-bad groove for a while there.....but this is two bad outings in a row.
Ralpho316
He is 3-5 starter material now, if he can get 13$ million from someone, god speed Curt.
MDKing
Other teams can hit our mediocre pitchers, why can't we hit theirs?

Schilling has managed to look like absolute crap quite a bit this year...but even then, for the most part, he's able to minimize the damage. He's given up what, 19 hits today? And they only have 3 runs. If he can find a way to get through 6 innings only giving up one more run (or none would be nice, of course), he's left the team in decent shape.

Doesn't help his bid for a big money extension, of course. But for today, I'm not panicking.

Jermaine Van Buren Fan
Bye-bye, Curt.
Pedro El Grande
Francoma, you are such a dork....forget about Schilling, its all about the Red Sox and not about #38
czar
$13.00
rominer
Yes. That, of course, changes things. 3 run HR are not "minimizing the damage." Booooooooo.
Youuuuk!
This homeplate ump has not been very consistent.
But Coco Crisp is tearing it up.
