Game time: 7:35 pm
Scheduled starters: Julian Tavarez (4-4, 4.97) v. Buddy Carlyle (1-1, 4.44)
The game will be on NESN.
Atlanta weather:
3 pm observation at KATL: wind out of the north at 16 mph, with gusts to 21 mph, visibility 10 miles, few clouds at 6,000 feet, broken clouds at 30,000 feet, temperature 89F, DP 60F.
Forecast: A hot summer night. The front has moved to the east and we're seeing the wind shift now. The winds are gusty, and will remain in the 10-20 mph range this evening. The air mass is still humid, at least by New England standards, but it's looking like a pleasant summer evening in Hot-lanta! Right now there's some cirrus debris left over from the rain that cleared out this morning, but it should be later this afternoon and clear tonight.
The wind will be blowing in from left/left center.

Isn't the radio feed always a second or two behind the tv? Therefore, you will hear what happens after already seeing it. That would be quite annoying.

This is true. But I have to watch most games on Gameday and not actually see the games, so I'll take what I can get.

Curses, an underlined word that isn't a link....I've been duped again!
Let's hope that Tavarez can keep it going, he's been doing well of late (3-0 in last six starts, including 2 games in which he went 7 IP).
I really enjoy watching Tavarez pitch....or rather, his pointing, hand pumping & other forms of body language between pitches.
WIN

It makes sense to rest him. That way he can have three days off in a row. He's been having trouble at the plate, and the time off makes sense now, when they have to sit one player - Lowell, Youkilis, or Ortiz.

1) The Atlanta feed showed Youks driving Manny by his hair. WTF was that about?
2) What happened to Drew?

Jun 20 2007, 07:21 PM
Well then. I guess I know who I'm inviting next time I have tickets to the buffet.
There goes my triple and single for JD. I hope it's a "Tavarez has Cy Young stuff, so this one's already over. Let's get WMP some ABs" move, and not a "JD hurt himself because he's had so little practice actually running the bases this year."

2) What happened to Drew?
He looked to pull up early and cruise into second instead of go all out, at least round the second base bag, and look for his 3rd base coach to see if a triple might be there. Hate to say it, but that sounds like a hammy or other leg injury.
